Software update interuppted

Stopped in a ATT store today and the rep I talked too said he had not heard of any issues... Blamed Samsung for the issue and then look at his computer and said that ATT is going to release 4.4 in January for the S4. I was really!!!(not sure I believe him) The 2nd rep when asked by the rep working with me chimed in that he had issues updating to 4.3 also. So their final answer was to wait it out....

A store rep has no access to that type of information. Neither do the reps on the social media platforms. Just forget what the person said.

Your AT&T store should be able to update both. I'm just too lazy to go to the store. :)

Update to my post. I was informed last night by AT&T that since my problem (& apparently most others) appears to be device/network related, the store would be unable to perform the update. True/untrue, I don't trust store personnel to tinker with my phone.

sad, but true. I will continue to buy Samsung devices but no more at&t branded for me. every other carrier has updated their products with very little hiccups.

Are you sure about other carriers? I know all carriers had issues with the 1st 4.3 release but haven't kept up with the re-release on other networks.

After countless tries the update went through last night.
So far no issues with 4.3.. I don't notice any difference between 4.2 and 4.3. ??
 
If anyone is looking for an update. Best Buy has techs from Samsung that will gladly ipdate your phone for free.

They will update any phone (Samsung) free of charge. Takes about all of 5 minutes.

You sound like the ATT rep. Not true that Samsung reps can fix it.

After a half hour on the phone with ATT on the "interrupted" problem, they told me to go to the Best Buy and talk to Samsung there. I waited 45 minutes at the Best Buy to talk to the Samsung guy (apparently, lot's of folks are having problems with their Samsung products). He said he had no way to fix the problem since it was 100% ATT problem. So ATT says it's a Samsung problem and Samsung says it's an ATT problem. Since it's still under warranty, I plan to just have ATT send me a new phone. At least with apple, you have one company to deal with instead of this "it's all the other guy's fault".

Read the entire thread. My issue is a mismatch between the phone number & IMEI. I told AT&T that I wouldn't even attempt going to BB until I heard back from them.

In fact, I missed a call from a Dev this morning. Callback set up.

The update isn't much of a issue..It's the fact that they denied anyone having this problem and told me that I would need to send it to Samsung to update.
I love the Galaxy but this is absurd.
 
This is the reason i started this thrread, AT&T as of Friday still says they have NOT heard of this problem, liars. Samsung will not help me and Best buy is a Joke, I am not going to send my phone in. I returned the Gear Watch and bought a GoPro instead.
 
Just wonder if this has been a issue way before the latest update? Due to the fact that Kies keeps showing that the device isn't supported...

They most definitely have heard of it. See my posts. If everyone here who uses Twitter would let them know as well maybe a fix would come sooner. Probably dreaming there though. :)

In my case I went to Best Buy and the Samsung rep did the upgrade for me. I guess I was just lucky. I bought the phone at the AT&T too.
