Sadly, as mentioned above, if this method fails you there is little way I have found to actually force the update.It lies; Just like my phone and tablet, telling me it has the most recent update
My update showed up yesterday... My watch would freak out about once a week (lock up in a weird way) .. Will see if that still happens.. Expecting a little more stability although generally everything was good already
Part of the update "optimizes" each app.. Not clear what that is, but it sounds good

App optimizing happens with all Android updates. When you install an app from an APK file, Android optimizes the code and stores it in an area called the Dalvik cache, which you can only see if you are rooted. Upon OS update, it reruns the optimization on all of your APKs to take advantage of changes in the new OS.

Everything seems up to date on my phone but my watch is still on 4.4w.2. I wonder if I just need to wait more its been 3 days since I turned the watch on.
