Solid reasons to buy One and not S4

If no one else is going to mention it... What's with the new sense app drawer? From my limited time with the phone it drove me nuts. Do you people actually like it or is it just something you learn to live with? I don't put shortcuts on my home screens so I live by an easily accessible and organized app drawer.

Just an honest question from someone on the outside looking in

Drives me nuts. I increased the grid and that helps. Giving sense an honest try they using Nova.

Same here. Don't care for the style of the app drawer in the One

Will give it a shot then go back to adw.ex where I can make the drawer any way I like it.

Just need the black one (HTC one) to come out now

I don't even notice. I got my home screen set up with all my folders so I hardly use it. The two step process to move a shortcut to the home screen is the only thing, but I adapted pretty quickly. It's just different.

I think that the OEMs should NOT really mess up with Stock Android UI ( JB UI, in this case). Most of the time, they ruin it. I have not seen many people appreciate TouchWiz or Sense ... Do we ever see Lenovo, Sony, HP or Dell messing up with Windows Aero or Metro UI? Then why these HTCs and Sammy are eager to mess up the experience? If it were GB and they were adding some UI enhancements it would have been fine!

In addition to the build and the camera performance in low light the following that was said in gizmodo's review is something to be noted in my opinion:

But the worst offense the software makes? It makes the phone slow. Well, not slow, exactly, but much slower than it should be. The Galaxy S4 has a 1.9GHz Snapdragon 600 processor. The HTC One has the exact same processor, but it?s only clocked to 1.7GHz. So the S4 should be faster, right? Wrong. Despite that fact that the S4 benchmarks better, the HTC One leaves the S4 in the dust in every practical way possible.

And gizmodo isn't the first to say about this. This experience I have also had with SI, SII and SIII. If pay freaking 800 $ (the price in europe fo S4) for my phone, I want it to be really smooth to operate. In my books this a clear reason to pick the one. I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone else mention this.

Although, Anandtech believes that the S600 in the GS4 is not necessarily an S600. There's another post about it. My interpretation is that it's a souped up S4 Pro. If true, it's both shady and a bid alarming, IMO.

I think this guy hits the nail on the head comparing the S4 to the HTC One. I like how he refers back to the HTC One several times..

I like the new app drawer!

Do you prefer it over the sense 4+ app drawer?

It just looked like a step backwards to me, but like I said it's not like I spent enough time to get used to it

The vertical scrolling makes more sense. I honestly try to use the app drawer as little as possible regardless of phone. I probably use it less on my One than I did on my Nexus.
