[Solved] Saving my Bricked Phone w/cab Files

I know I suggested that as a theoretical possibility, but it can't be just that by itself, because I have backed out to V9 and used the LG Software Updater to go to VC at least 9 times while writing the instructions to revert and answering questions afterwards. This was all with the same phone. It could be a component of a more involved reason, but not the sole reason.

Also the software updater reads the MEID of your phone as well and your new phone would have a different MEID. They can't assume that your phone has the update just because your phone # is the same as that logic could fail if you got a replacement phone.

True, in the tool I clicked "update history" it shows I had updated to VC. IDK, unless I think of something I am done for the night. I need sleep, lol. I will run this from another PC as well tomorrow. As of now I have the V9 radio on CM7 and it seems OK.

Thanks

Oh, did you do factory resets before/after nandroiding back, for prepping to use the LG Updater Tool?

There was another report from a Sprint tech that they are getting the same problem where the LG Software Updater tool is not letting them update because it doesn't think anything new is available, so with a 2nd report of this happening, it is more likely it is an issue on the LG side, either by design or by accident. The Sprint tech had 2 LS670s, just activated, one updated to VC OTA and the other hooked up to PC using LG Software Updater.

Still needs more investigation to get to the bottom of it though.

Sucks that it is happening to someone else too, but I feel better knowing I am not the only one...

Thanks for that info :)
