SOLVED Unlimited Data but I cannot use wireless hub

Re: Unlimited Data but I cannot use wireless hub

It is an option, some devices require root or third party apps, not everyone is willing to use them. And say that you use 100gb mhs, Verizon unlimited mhs is way cheaper at $30 than say tmobile which would probably run you over 10x as much

Well if you root and use party... It would cost you nothing to tether on T-Mobile.

No reception at my house except vzw. Will sell phone soon so no sense in tripping root sensor. I wonder how people send. in phones. I don't think us mail allows anything with li ion battery any more.

Same could be said for verizon. Just that the op is talking about the official hotspot offering.

Sure enough you guyz are correct. I called vzw again today and rep said no problem turning on wifi hub and keeping unlimited data. I cannot believe I got two reps in a row b4 who gave totally bogus info. VZW really needs to work on this sort of issue.

Yeah, I have been given inaccurate information on numerous occasions. My two favorite was when I asked to cancel service within 3 days of activation, the csr said that the activation fee cannot be waived under any situation. I told her my receipt and Verizon's website shows that to be a fact. After some argument, I did get the activation fee waived.

Another time, I already fulfilled my one year contract (back when they had them), but the csr insisted that I could not buy a subsidized phone due to a Verizon screw-up, which he wholly admitted. After a bit of arguing, he finally agreed.

I have other stories, but those are the best.

Btw, I had issues with other carriers too, so it isn't just Verizon. And not just cell phones either. Car dealers are notorious. I had a dealer quote me the wrong HP on a car, another dealer tell me that the bed liner on the truck was an option. The sticker indicated that it was a standard feature. These were new car dealers too, not some shady third party dealer. I once had a dealer tell me that a used car I was looking at had no accidents. The carfax in the glove box indicated that it had been in two accidents.

I've had representatives tell me that the $30 Upgrade Fee is mandatory and its impossible to have the fee reversed or refunded. These was in store representatives but I've had it waived all 3 times without an issue. I've also been told so many other things its not even funny but I realize not everyone will budge immediately or at all. My only issue is when they don't even know POLICY and it really discourages people.

Yeah, not budging on the upgrade fee is no big deal as they are just following policy. But I honestly have a hard time believing that they don't know the activation fee policy, and even if they didn't, they can simply look on the website, or ask their supervisor. And insisting that someone can't upgrade even after they have fulfilled their contract is ridiculous.

Re: Unlimited Data but I cannot use wireless hub

Which widget do you use? I have Samsung S3 phone with UDP and just got a new Samsung Tab 3 8.0 wifi. Want to tether or use as hotspot without losing my unlimited data.
Thanks in advance!

Depends on the phone, but on my Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II and Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3, I can use the stock hotspot app, but activated by a third party widget

Don't get 4.3,it will block even the widget loophole on the s3.with 4.1,you can use elixir widget, that is what I use. But others would work too
