Some cases don't work with V10 fingerprint reader. Name your case and if it works or not.

I was looking at the case on amazon, its very popular but the ad states this
"Air Cushion Technology protects against small drops"
What does "small" mean? I'm thinking dropping from 2 feet and it lands on a pillow?

Steve

"Small" is mostly subjective as each case is different. I'd assume the more everyday drops like you mentioned though I could also include drops which involve the phone falling on a table or flat surface and a few falls onto carpet flooring. Either way, as long as you're not doing anything insane with it a Spigen case will work fine.

Then again, I've yet to drop my V10 and am currently basing my experience with device drops on my previous HTC One M8 so yeah.

Some people have said their fps works with their case. Can anyone in here verify this?

The FPS does work with cases. All you have to do is register your fingerprints with the case already on. Though, one person apparently talked to a carrier support agent who did say the steel side contribute to the sensore but the sensore doesnt fully rely on it. So if you have problems, after your reconfiguration, take it back and see if they will replace it or reflash it. Part of its accuracy is software based from what iv heard.

The FPS works for many people with cases but for some it does not. I've registered my fingerprints with the case on but it's still very inconsistent. My FPS is pretty much flawless without a case. I'm on T-Mobile which has not pushed an update that at least one other carrier has pushed.

I have the Obliq case and the at&t version V10. I set the fingerprint sensor up before I got the case and it still worked from the very first time I put the case on it. Zer0 problems.

I got my V10 Sunday and didnt set up my finger print sensor for a few days. I bought it at Verizon and also got an Incipio Dual Pro case. Well to my surprise, the fingerprint scanner will not work unless you are touching the stainless steel sides of the phone. With the case, its a no go.

Name the case you have
If it has cut outs exposing the sides
And if your fingerprint scanner works with it or not.

I have read online that some cases will work, just not mine😢

I just retrained my fingerprint. It quit working when I removed the Obliq FlexPro case and put on the Casemate Wallet/Folio case.

It works good again. I am on a VS990 Verizon phone that updated immediately upon my activation of the phone January 6th.

I have the spigen case and it works great.. I also picked up this cheap case because i wanted a kickstand.. so far its working really well.
its cheap and works great with wireless charging.

Switched my V10 out into a new Vena vAllure case and fingerprint scanner still works fine. At this point I'm really thinking this is just another YMMV though I can adapt pretty easily so eh.

i have the SPECK case... Purchased $50 from the AT&T store when I bought my phone, and It's rugged and works like a charm! It's kind of bulky but not by that much.

I have the otterbox defender and it either works perfectly or not at all.
I don't think the case is the problem.

I have the same case. Bulky but protective. I'll use it when I want max protection. It doesn't interfere with the FPS at all.
