Some cases don't work with V10 fingerprint reader. Name your case and if it works or not.

I find that my sensor works or doesn't work... regardless of the otterbox defender. Its more dependent on the condition of my fingertips at the time. If they are wet or dirty it won't work. I also have very callous / dry "laborers hands" if you will. Depending on how dry my hands are this will effect the FPS sensitivity. I try and keep my hands lotion-ed soft, and I wear gloves more now too. This helps a lot... again with or without the case. My V10 is a Verizon model... fwiw, and the FPS definitely did improve after I D/L'd the update around 1/8/16.

I have spoken to T-mobile and LG today. They are not offering a thing to T-mobile customers. LG's customer service is abysmal. T-mobile blames LG. There are no remedies available to T-mobile customers. This smells like a legal problem at this point.

Or it smells like a "stuff happens in the world of tiny technology" thing.

Seriously. You can talk about legal action all you want, but it's meaningless.

Will t-mobile ever get an update? I just figured out that with my spigen ultra hybrid case it does work. The trick is to press the power button and hold for a sec to get it to unlock. Not press the button to wake up and then try to unlock. If the phone is awake and on the lock screen I simply cannot get it to unlock while using this case. I wonder what is so special about this finger print reader. The case does not cover the power button in any area. Why would the case have any effect on its ability to read the print?

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Marshmallow is the next update for the T-Mobile version, and we skip the stop-gap update that Verizon got that fixes the fingerprint scanner but keeps the phone on Lollipop. Now how long we'll have to wait for that is another question

I have a Speck case. On the front side a sliver of the stainless steel side is exposed and I have large hands. If I wrap my fingers around so that part of one or two of my fingers is touching the steel then the FPS works. Otherwise, no dice.

I can't imagine anyone with normal size hands using this case unless they hold only half the phone.

Got the black on black Incipio case from Tmo... doesn't work half the time, but i have the knock code, smartlock etc so most of the time I don't even notice... I hope they skip the minor update as well, and just shoot for marshmallow

I did a work around as well.. Small notch in the case on the lower right hand side where my thumb goes as I use the fps.. That way my thumb makes contact with the railing.. Works perfect..

It's really infuriating to have them advertise a completely nonfunctional feature. I love the phone otherwise, but this is a glaring, massive fail and an insult to their customers.

It would appear that those of us on VZW have this problem resolved based on the update they pushed out... It stinks that those on AT&T & T-Mobile can't get this resolved... It would appear to be a minor update...

AT&T did push an update that fixed the fingerprint sensor issue. :) I bought my V10 from AT&T and got the update right away and my FPS has always worked perfectly, case or not.

So I just got my cheap case off Amazon by some company called DGtle. The finger print scanner works just fine if I start from a shut off state. Hold it down for a second and it turns right on bypassing the lock screen. If i double tap the phone on or turn it on first with the power button then try to get it to read the fingerprint, it will not work. Now the edge of the case surrounding the face actually leaves just a little bit of the metal sides exposed that it's not hard to just push it over a half a millimeter to touch the metal and make it work. I might be in the minority and have no real use for the finger print scanner so otherwise very happy with the fit of the case and all the openings.

Actually after playing with it a few minutes, it seems to work from the locks creen state almost every time after a couple/few tries if that makes sense.

Did not realize that AT&T sent an update... So it is just the folks who are on T-Mobile... Still stinks that it can't be resolved as it is a minor update

Hmm, just got my V10 yesterday and noticed this thread so I was concerned but my fingerprint scanner recognizes my finger insanely quick if I hold it at a certain angle.

This is with a V10 on T-Mobile using a full black Incipio DualPro case too so kinda odd. I DID set up my fingerprint with the case already installed beforehand.

Spigen works fine

I was looking at the case on amazon, its very popular but the ad states this
"Air Cushion Technology protects against small drops"
What does "small" mean? I'm thinking dropping from 2 feet and it lands on a pillow?
