Some cases don't work with V10 fingerprint reader. Name your case and if it works or not.

Verizon bought on 12/31/15.
At first I could not get it to work consistently with my Otterbox Defender, so I just turned it off and ignored it.
Around 1/8/16 I turned it on, programmed it better for more spots around the tip of my finger and it now works great with the OD.

I got my V10 Sunday and didnt set up my finger print sensor for a few days. I bought it at Verizon and also got an Incipio Dual Pro case. Well to my surprise, the fingerprint scanner will not work unless you are touching the stainless steel sides of the phone. With the case, its a no go.

Name the case you have
If it has cut outs exposing the sides
And if your fingerprint scanner works with it or not.

I have read online that some cases will work, just not mine😢

I have the otter box. And when I got it, the scanner worked fine. After a month, my phone is starting to have the symptoms of not reading the fingerprint. But when the case is off its fine.

... on a side note, my sensor was working great up until 2 days ago. When all of a sudden it went completely dead. It would not read my prints, and I could not re-program any prints. It just flat out up and died, with or without the case.

I did a system reset and that fixed everything and all is good once again. With the otter box defender.

Mine works perfectly with the Obliq Flex Pro case. I trained the finger print after I installed the case and after the Verizon patch update.

I bought some random case from a stand in the mall and it works. My incipio case I got from T-Mobile works too. The sensor is MUCH less sensitive than the iPhone 6s I will say. A software update could do some good.

Just received the Otterbox Defender case. No issues with the FPS. Didn't have to reprogram my prints. Put the case on and it works great.

I bought an Obliq case on amazon for about $10 and have had no issues whatsoever

I just picked up the Ghostek Cloak case off of ebay and have had no issues with the FPS. My V10 is the T-Mobile variant

This is hilarious because I had no idea about the case / fingerprint issue when I bought the phone. Then went to Amazon to buy a simple Spigen clear tpu case only to find putting it on and it works ZERO percent of the time. As soon as I take it off, it works perfect (and much quicker than my S6 ever did). Here's to hoping LG does something about this soon....

There have already been updates pushed to most of the phones. Which carrier are you on? Have you tired to do a software update?

Am using the Otterbox Defender case... No problems... My phone is on VZW... am assuming the update they issued fixed the FPS issue

This is a non-issue after the appropriate VZW update came out a few weeks ago. This thread is pointless.

No it's not. T-Mobile never received that update so there are people that are still effected.
