Some Folders on Home Screen Disappear After the 8.1 Update

I noticed all my folders running along the top row of my Pixel tablet disappeared after the 8.1 update. I added them back in, but noticed the following day they were gone again.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Same here. Any item that occupies the top row of the home screen will disappear after a restart.
