Some important details about T-Mobile's 30/Month 4G

Re: Some important details about T-mobile's 30/Month 4G

If you keep an eye on slickdeals.net, about once every 2 weeks someone posts a deal for a sim card activation kit through t-mobile for free or under $1. I did that and then made an account and selected the Walmart plan which was listed in the plan options.

Is the $30/month unlimited data plan still available on tmobile.com ? I can't find it anymore.

It states the first 5gb 4g speed after that, they throttle the data

I am interested in this plan and I prefer the Galaxy S3. Is the Galaxy S3 sold by WalMart on this plan "special"? Or is it a standard tmobile GS3 that I can later move to a family plan if I find that the talk time is really not enough on this plan? The price for this GS3 is lower than many of the new tmobile GS3's on Ebay. It seems like a pretty good deal even if you need to move it to a tmobile family plan later (assuming that this is possible.)

I have done this plan for 3 of my friends using 2 nexus 4 from eBay and a nexus 5 from swappa. You DO NOT need to buy a phone from Walmart or tmobile to be able to use this. There is just somethings you need to get it to work. I followed these instructions: http://mobilereign.com/how-to-get-the-unlocked-nexus-4-on-the-30-t-mobile-prepaid-plan/

Just buy an gs3 from swappa and order a sim card from tmobile if they are offering the free promotion. Otherwise buy a startup kit from Walmart. Then follow the directions on this site

Any questions just ask them on this site and they can help you most of the time

Re: Some important details about T-mobile's 30/Month 4G

It is posted on T-Mobile web that it is a Walmart or online offer only.

galaxy nexus / cataclysm jb 4.3 / tapatalk 4

It's posted on there but it's not the only way. They just prefer that you get on the more expensive plan and make it harder.

I never even stepped foot in a Walmart. Got my sim free from T-Mobile.com and signed up online for the plan

That's exactly what I did for my friend. He just used his credit card at the end to add funds and used the free sim from tmobile website.

The simplest way to activate any unlocked phone that is supported on T-Mobile is simply to buy the Walmart activation kit and not bother trying to get a cheap or free sim from T-MO. Cost is $39.88 and gives you first month of service.

T-Mobile SIM Kit: No-Contract Phones & Plans : Walmart.com

This kit includes your first month of $30.00 and is a snap to get started and ensure you get the right plan

I couldn't activate on the web. So I called T-Mobile from the phone to get the $30 5GB plan.

Re: Some important details about T-mobile's 30/Month 4G

Im planning to buy the sim card from tmobile and bring my own phone (sony xperia z1s) and go for the $30 plan. But in the tmobile website i dont see how to access to that plan. It only tells you that it has to be generated from walmart or tmobile.com but cant find right link. Could tou share it? Thanks

Did it work?

Re: Some important details about T-mobile's 30/Month 4G

Is that chip the same 99 cents one sold by tmobile?

Re: Some important details about T-mobile's 30/Month 4G

Emphasizing what others have said, you can buy the sim from t-mobile's site and activate online, but if you call or chat with a tmobile rep, they will insist that it's a Wal-Mart only plan. I even pointed a rep to a thread on their support forum that had another rep saying that the plan can be activated without the Wal Mart kit -- she told me that the thread was three months old and that they have since "clarified" some of the rules. I activated online with the sim I bought from tmobile.com, but it wouldn't let me transfer my old number. I took a new number for my new phone and then called a rep a few days later. Evidently, they won't let you port a pre-paid number to another pre-paid account online, but she didn't have any problem switching the number for me.

Re: Some important details about T-mobile's 30/Month 4G

First 200MB data @ 4g then its throttled. Im better off paying the $50 for 2.5 GB

Are we talking about the same thing?

There's a T-Mobile plan for $30/month with 5 gigs of high-speed data (throttled to Edge after the cap), unlimited text, and 100 voice minutes. If you're in a good T-Mobile service area and don't use many voice minutes, it's a great option.
