Some Samsung update give me a new lock screen?

Sometimes while charging my phone, I turn it on, and it's black lock screen giving me battery tips and the like versus my regular lock screen. This has started sometime within the last few weeks I want to say? Someone said it was a side effect of the Peel Remote app, which I disabled, but it happened again. Any ideas?

You have to remove Peel, not just disable it.

Ok....is that doable without being rooted?

I believe Peel asks for Administrative access. If that is granted, and it appears it was, that has to be removed before the app can be deleted. Settings, Security.
