I just transitioned from an HTC One M8. I loved my HTC, but before two years, the microphone had gone out and the touch screen at times was sluggish. So, I finally made the commitment to a Samsung Galaxy S6 because I heard such great things about Samsung. I'm really having trouble adjusting.
Well, this first thing I don't like about Samsung can't be changed. It's the fact that the 3 buttons at the bottom - aren't always visible and the Home button is clunky and mechanical rather always there, elegant and digital like on HTC.
So, on to other things that might have a solution...
1. During initial setup, I was automatically presented with an option to set up additional emails such as AOL, Yahoo, some other and then an "Other." I selected "Other" and set up incoming and outgoing mail servers, user name and password. I got that working.
However, the first time I wanted to do an attachment from my Gallery, I was presented with ALL photos rather than the option to select photos the Albums I had set up. And, since all images had been downloaded from my cloud, they were in no particular order. This is totally unworkable considering I have about 1800 photos.
Also, my HTC showed number off new emails next to the Home email icon. Once I looked at the list of emails in my inbox, the number of emails next to the home icon went away. Also, once I downloaded the emails to my laptop, the inbox would eventually clear out on its own.
On my Samsung, the number next to the email icon on the home screen shows unread emails instead and they never clear out automatically when I download to my laptop. Instead I have to delete each one. Very annoying.
Verizon tech asked me what app I'm using for this email, and it seems to just be the app that came with the phone.
2. In Do Not Disturb mode, I can no longer add specific people to exceptions, only ALL favorites. On HTC, I could add specific people. Really?
Anyone know any solutions to #1 and #2?
