Somewhat Unfavorable ZDNET Review

WOW, what a fanboy! Evo better in sunlight? Haven't we gone over this yet? There were a few tests done in the sunlight on youtube and the Super AMOLED display came out on top every time (Evo, of course, came last among the super smartphones). This guy's a joke of a reviewer. A kickstand?! A KICKSTAND?! HE can't just prop up his phone on something? Really? OMG, no Froyo for the Epic. World's going to end! Umm, we're getting it in a month or so anyways? Doesn't the Epic support micro usb to hdmi anyways? Hidden Backlit buttons: You have GOT to be kidding me. He obviously hasn't read all the other reviews.

Conclusion: This guy's a joke that so bad, even a five year old can out review him. His information is inaccurate in several areas and it just ticks me off when these so-called professionals can't even do a simple review right. <end rant>

I think every first impression or unboxing review I've read or viewed missed the point about being able to adjust the backlighting of the capacitive buttions. I remember reading about this feature when someone pointed it out when the US Galaxy S series were first introduced by Samsung about a month or two ago.

Are you saying this works for the Captivate? My roommate with AT&T just got one and I'd like to help him out with this feature, but the setting isn't in the same place as where people are saying it is on the Epic (since the Epic's setting is with the keyboard settings).

I too haven't gotten a clear answer for where the settings are to adjust the capacitative button backlight. I would like to know as well.

I'm talking about the Epic, when it was introduced next to all four US Galaxy S phones. Someone had complained about the backlight going off too soon, then someone pointed out that it could be adjusted. I haven't been paying attention to the Captivate, but aren't the buttons painted or etched on that model?

Oh, they mean timer adjusting. We found that out recently. We were wondering about dimming or brightening the capacitative buttons.
