Sony Xperia Z2 Reviews

What does he mean in that Android Authority review when he complains about the 'lip' to the phone's body. Is he saying the sides of the front face have raised edges (i.e. like on the galaxy s4, note 3) as opposed to the iPhone/nexus 4 which is flush all across?

Didn't quite understand:confused:

So again, the camera is somewhat of a disappointment. Bummer.

According to Android Police, a software fix is being sent tru OTA :

Improved camera performance & function with faster start time and better auto focus

That's the way I interpret it.

There's not so much a "lip" per se. The metal frame and glass front and back are flush, but because metal and glass have two very different textures, if you run your finger from the glass to the left or right-side metal frame, you will notice the abrupt change of materials (frictionless glass vs friction from the metal). Does that help at all?

I'm normal use, I can't imagine you'd ever notice this. I didn't notice anything until I saw your post.

Any one seen any S5 vs Z2 picture/video comparisons?

Reall tough choice between them for me.

Au contraire. Dx0Mark has it down as the best camera phone they've ever tested. And they really know their stuff.

Just read this article prior to coming on this thread. Its one amongst many reasons i have placed my order for the Z2.

Its the phone i have been looking for and for some reason overlooked the Sony range, not this time and I'm glad its the most media focused phone with a great camera and for me the best for early 2014.

Things change rapidly in this space but atleast for now the Z2 is the one that has it wrapped up very well indeed.

Build Quality is great, noise cancelling headphones or the tech is in the phone rather. Great specs, camera, 4k recording, improved screen tech, battery, and battery saving features, light skin, and many others.

Cant wait to get my hands on it and to enjoy all the features and goodies this phone has.

I am in a similar boat - camera is the number 1 priority for me on my next phone (my last was lg g2 and the camera wasn't good).
I am kinda hoping that the z2 comes out on top in any photo/video comparison as I think I'd rather get it due to the premium feel. That said, I'll probably get the s5 if it has a better camera.

I wouldn't dwell too much over which is better, they are both going to be great. There will be payoffs with both (and the M8 for that, which also has some real strengths that may not be so obvious). Look at it this way - you can't lose! :)

Haha, I thought I couldn't lose with the LG G2. All the reviews rated the camera very highly. The pictures of my kids were a smudgy, blurry mess. Not making that mistake again.

Some argued the same with the Note 3 but its been fine with me :-)
