Today I purchased a 2013 moto X developer edition 32gb unlocked and am proud to say that I will soon be an android user! I have been sick of my iPhone for the past year.

I'm pretty familiar with Android's basic concepts but does anybody have any cool or helpful tips for the moto X 2013?

Moto assist is a good feature in the car when you are alone. It reads your texts aloud and lets you respond without touching the phone, but it can be embarrassing if others are around. So I always have the app where I can find it quickly and only use it when I'm alone. Also if you are new to Android try another launcher and customize your phone to your taste.

My tip is use the heck out of it! Depending on when it was made, it may need to update to Android 4. 4. 4. So it will go through that update cycle once it downloads the update and you install it. Give it about 3 full charge cycles to condition the battery. You will also need to train it to recognize your voice for the okay Google now function to work. Make sure you do this in a completely silent room. The Moto assist app will help you transfer some data from your iPhone also. You will need to install an app on your iPhone in order to do this.

The moto assist works great with your calendar. I programmed my work schedule as it mutes the phone when I work automatically. Also use Google Now and Notes. Nice integration.

I'm also a soon-to-be Moto X owner. I've been wanting the walnut version since it came out but never pulled the trigger until about a week ago. Bought one on eBay and it should be arriving any minute. Eagerly awaiting the mailman.
