soooo had it with the Rezound!!!

I have never had a time that "Display" hasn't been #1 in battery drain..no matter the brightness settings.

Would you mind posting a screenshot of the battery details screen (the screen you get when you tap the usage graph)? Thanks for the info.

If you're looking for the battery details screen after 4 days of use, I've since recharged the phone a few hours after the photo was taken. What screen info were you looking for?

That usually means someone doesn't really use their phone a lot.

From the best android phone PERIOD. Galaxy Nexus.

Or someone who looks deceptively, inactive b/c they're running a custom ROM which doesn't tax power in the same manner that a bloat enabled phone does.

The people that use their phones the most are the ones that check every 5 mins to see how much battery they have left, LOL.

Hi guys,

I've had my Rezound for about 2 months and battery life has been all over the map. When I first got it I was in a 4G area and the battery went dead in a few hours, but improved a lot when I went back to 3G.

Definitely had some issues with the OTA update, but they seemed to mostly resolve themselves when I went back in and adjusted the power settings. I do seem to have a hard time getting the phone into standby mode, and used to have issues with the screen randomly not timing out. Since I've been through all my apps and disabled any "prevent from sleeping" settings, the only thing I can attribute it to is the Verizon Location Service. I'm planning on doing a temp root one of these days to remove all of the Verizon bloatware. I usually keep most wireless services off, but do use auto-update for gmail, news, weather, and backup assisstant.

In the last few days my battery life has been HORRIBLE. I spent most of the morning trying to hunt down the cause (software license server is down at work anyway ). A soft reset seemed to help some, and I further narrowed it down to a few possible causes:

- Live Wallpaper I've been trying out (fire galaxy free, HTC weather)
- Tap Tap Revenge
- Facebook Chat

- Verizon Location Agent

Tap Tap and FBChat start automatically when the phone resets. I killed both the tasks. I also changed to a non-live wallpaper, but saw only a tiny impact on usage.

I think the main resource usage from VLA happens right at startup, since my battery monitor stopped showing it as a contributor a few hours after the reset. And I was wrong on this one. On the next charge of my phone, the battery drained in 5 hours and VLA used 75% of it. Guess it's time to download CleanTool (link: http://www.theandroidsoul.com/htc-rezound-bloatware-removal-tool-─-cleantool-1-1/). From what I read it really works, but you might need to run it multiple times.

I learned from another thread that FBChat will keep coming back unless you go into the Facebook app and tell it to log you out of chat (top-left menu-->chat-->menu softkey-->log out - does not sign you completely out of FB). That seemed to make a difference too.

I am really terrible about letting things just auto-update, so I can't diagnose for sure what caused my usage to skyrocket so much in the last 48 hours or so. [It was a Verizon software update.] I do think that Facebook updated recently, and then something triggered chat, which I had kept turned off until someone sent me a message and checked it on my phone instead of at home. So the best I can figure is that it's a recent FB update. There's also a remote possiblity it was Tap Tap Revenge, because I do remember it updating recently too.

Hope this is useful!
