Soooo... wtf is an Audiovox Incredible?

2 days ago I accidentally spilled beer all over my phone, ruined the camera, speaker, got really deep into the phone etc. So its ruined, I got my replacement ordered since I have insurance and when I checked the status of the claim it says I'm getting:

Claimed Equipment:
Audiovox INCREDIBLE Standard
Accessories: Battery, Home charger

Please god tell me I'm getting a regular HTC Inc, and not some off brand pos Audiovox lookalike...

I read some where here or on crackberry that HTC bought audiovox. And its the same thing. Why they put audiovox on the box I don't know. I remember them as a cheap audio company. But it is HTC phone everything will look like your old phone and will be stamped HTC on the back.

yeah from my personal experience, audiovox isn't the best of quality. the funny thing is they are located like 10 miles from my house in Long Island New York.

i figured HTC would have aquired a bigger company than audiovox but then again maybe this has somthing to do with RCA as well

I just got it, and it seems identical in every way, except for the new box. I had preordered my first one so it was just the gay white one. The new gray/green one is pretty cool!

I looked on the box and flipped through the manual quickly and saw no mention of Audiovox, so yeah, weird.

how's the quality of the phone?

have you been experiencing any problem? cause i lost my phone. and I'm ordering the replacement thru online right now. but i think i dont have any other choice because according to assurion you cannot replace your old phone with a different model.

the only time assurion will send out a different model is if it is discontinued and they are out of it.....then they have to send you the new model replacement. A friend of mine had an LG . It was water damaged. She contacted assurion and she was given the upgraded phone to the discontinued model.

Until about 05 or 06 HTC used big named brand manufacturers to sell their devices (such as Audiovox). So I think its just the insurance company that has not brought its data bases up to date with HTC actually branding their own names on their devices.

Had the same experience last week. Called assurion just to be assured. No difference when I received mine, except the box.

it is the same exact phone by htc right? i dropped mine and asurion only has the first incredible listed as being from audiovox.

Yes - it's the same phone. Audiovox is another name that HTC markets under.

I noticed the Audiovox branding on my daughter's replacement Dinc. I just assumed Audiovox was the manufacturing arm of HTC. Very few tech companies actually manufacture their products.

Funny. The first cell phones my mom and Grandma got from Verizon 13 years ago was from Audiovox. I didn't know it was an HTC subsidiary.
