I guess it depends on your point of view. I'm an iPhone 5 and HTC One owner, and I see much more attitude among Android owners. It's like that dog in the movie "Up" - everyone's fighting amongst themselves over who has the better Android phone when suddenly someone yells "Rabbit!", er, I mean "iPhone!" and then the anti-Apple circlejerk begins. That's just how I see it, though. Like I said, it all depends on your point of view.

This is how all such threads end up. OP makes a comment about Apple that, while not positive, certainly can't be considered bashing. A bunch of people come to Apple's defense, claim the OP is bashing Apple, and start attacking him/her. Then others come to the OP's defense. A battle begins, and chaos ensues.

Dude! You took the words right out of my mouth! I cannot understand for the life of me why some Android users have this hate for Apple! And the funny things is, I used to use Android before I ever touched an Apple product and used to come to these forums and hear the same thing, iSheeps and Apple sucks and Apple this and Apple that..... I even started believing all that!

Fast forward 2 years and I will never come back to Android, i found what works for me, I guess I am an isheep now LOL

If either of you read the posts without your blinders on, you'd see that no apple bashing REALLY started except a few little random sprinkling of comments that were easily ignored. It's just that you are looking for it. I knew you'd show up to this because like I said earlier to another poster, there's always the little group of Apple fans that have no business even being on the Android forums but they always seem to pop up to defend Apple even when there's no Apple bashing occuring. They all say that it's pathetic how Android fans bash Apple, and then you proceed to bash Android in the same breath. Talk about hypocritical. I don't like Apple, you don't like Android. I stay away from iMore because I have nothing positive to say (most of the time) about Apple.

And to BeagleBaby, you mentioned the arrogance of Apple users in one of your posts. My Father in Law is a huge fan of Apple (owns iPhone 4s and two iPads) and he is a great guy. However, two cousins that I see often, as well as my brother in law, two sister's in law, and a guy I work with all own iPhones. This group of people inspired me to coin the term: "Apple Arrogance." I know that there are millions of D-bag Android users, and it's probably directly proportionate to iPhone users or possibly more so. Android users can be so unbelievably ridiculous and illogical while they fight their little civil war. But I have encountered NOTHING quite like Apple Arrogance. Like I said before, they will bash you for bashing Apple and then they bash Android immediately after and then have the heir about them like they just cured cancer and proved you wrong. Rules do not apply to them. Decency is an unneccessary afterthought. I'm not saying all Apple users are this way, but when you come across Apple Arrogance you know EXACTLY what i'm saying.

I hate apple and Microsoft because of their anti open source agenda, especially Microsoft. I also hate how they lock down your device that you pay for. If I pay top dollar for my console or phone, I should be able to do what I want with it.

My hate for Apple and Microsoft does not seem from their os's, I don't give a damn what they do with them. Just wanted to set the record straight for you guys.

I think that there is a large segment of the population that are not comfortable making a choice on a smart phone. Apple marketing and the whole "it just works" idea plays into that, making the iPhone a comfortable choice. If you aren't tech savvy and you go out to buy a smart phone, you will definitely feel much safer going with iPhone, and of course Apple leverages that as much as they can.

And to be honest, it IS the safe choice for someone who isn't tech savvy. You will get a good phone, good customer service, updates, and very little chance of messing stuff up. There is no risk of buying a turd and then have people say "Why didn't you just get an iPhone?".

Then, after using the iPhone, next time around, it is even a safer choice.

The thread is about someone caring too much about iOS users saying Apple "just works". The thread basically started as a bash on Apple.

My take on this whole thread and topics like it - the bashing from both sides is dumb.

See, the reason Apple users don't bash each other as much as Android users is that what is there to bash? The color of their case? How they have their icons arranged? All iphone 5's...well, even all 4's and 4s's are all the same. Nothing differenciates themselves amongst each other. Android has many different phones. Many different skins. Many different specs. And the list goes on so when you have many different types of users with many different types of phones....the "my phone is better than your phone" ensues.

I don't hate the iphone. I don't hate iphone/apple users. I just hate Apple.

That has been one of Apple's design philosophies for a long time now and one of the reasons why people said iOS (now at iOS) is long in the tooth. They designed the interface for first-time users, lowering the barrier to entry. They haven't been shy about it either. It's just their way.

And to be honest, it IS the safe choice for someone who isn't tech savvy. You will get a good phone, good customer service, updates, and very little chance of messing stuff up. There is no risk of buying a turd and then have people say "Why didn't you just get an iPhone?".

Then, after using the iPhone, next time around, it is even a safer choice.

There's a reason why my parents have iPhones. There's a reason why my wife has an iPhone. One of them - it's just easier for me to be their technical support that way.
