I've had my prime for a week now and have been totally impressed with it,except for the volume levels coming from the built in speaker. Also, while trying to listen with some earbuds, the volume level at full was still pretty weak. I just ordered some bluetooth headphones for my kids to watch movies and I'm hoping they will be able to hear while in an area with loud outside noises, i.e. airplanes, in the car. Has anyone felt the noise levels on their Prime are too low at the highest settings?

Yes. I've tried volume booster after volume booster. I can't find one that will work. Maybe someone will chime in with one that does work.

There is a volume enhancer called "Volume +" that works perfectly with the Prime. You have to google it and make sure you get the one that is specifically for ICS. It'll work for the Prime. Sorry I have no link. But its easy to find.

I tried it. It did increase a little bit, but I'm not rooted and it specifically states that you might experience issues stock. I'm assuming that you are not stock?

At least the free one says that, "A Cyanogen Mod 7 or MIUI ROM is HIGHLY recommended. Running this app on a Stock ROM/Kernel may result in it not working, being far too quiet, or getting even quieter. PLEASE don't comment or rate badly if you are on a Stock ROM as this is most likely the problem. Thanks."

Even if I was rooted, I doubt I'd run either of those ROMs as the Prime has ICS.

There's the $1.62 one, but it says the same thing, and I didn't want to spend $1.62 if it didn't work.

So, which one are you running?

Are you rooted with CG7 or a MIUI ROM?

I am rooted now, but only as of yesterday. I had the Volume + app working before I was rooted. Make sure that you find the ICS version (latest version), which is actually a beta. It's not in the Android Market. I have no ROMs, just the stock ROM. I am technically rooted, but only for superuser access. If you just google "volume + for ICS beta," you'll find it in apk form.

Thanks. I use it on my EVO3D. I see I will spend a lot of time loading this thing up on day one.

Off topic and for another thread, but quick question:
Did you root your Evo3D? If so, is it worth it and is there many working ROMs that a user doesn't lose any features?

My EVO3D is stock and the app works fine. I love the way it sounds. There are a lot of ROMs though, just visit XDA and they can answer any and alll of your questions and concerns about rooting.

Yeah, I am bummed about the volume level as well. I find that cupping my hand behind the speaker to bounce the sound off my palm helps, but that really isn't ideal. And even with earbuds, the sound is too low. I tried to watch a movie on a flight this weekend, and even with noise-cancelling earbuds and holding my hands over my ears, I could barely hear the sound over the noise of the plane. Asus needs to fix this.
