Honestly, duo as a video chat application from Google is pretty good. I use it a lot. I also use Hangouts with my family which is becoming a legacy Google app and fading away this year similarly to Google play music unfortunately.

I've not used anything since old Hangouts days .. got rid of Google ± then rid of Hangouts ... Not planning on Meet... Actually annoying when I get email update that Meet tab comes back and I have to disable it in settings ...

Certainly hope they combine the Duo PTP call feature with Meet. Hopefully Samsung will integrate it into the dialer like they've done with Duo.

Is Duo free? I have never tried it. I have the unlocked Note 9 on VZW so there is no native Verizon Video Call option.

Yes it's free , Samsung intergrated this in dialer and message app in Android 10

Once you open the app it should have your number and press proceed then wait for text message for verification and then you're in

Haha, yeah it doesn't. However I you do well with some people in classic hangouts with most of my family especially my dad! So all in all I only use Google software to communicate but I really hope this isn't true because I don't have a work-based Google account that I can use for a Google chat/google meet.
