Spent some quality time at Best Buy with demo units

Nice I'm stopping by afternoon to play with Ultra, Saturday I only got to play with S20+ and S20 since there was a guy glued to Ultra for more than 20 minutes after which I just gave up and thought will take a look at it later.
I didn't play with the camera. Just wanted wanted to get a feel in hand. I only had a few minutes after lunch and dont think I would have learned much in the Best Buy environment.

I can verify this. Taking sample photos inside the very sterile Best Buy isn't fun or informative at all.

Ok came back up from Best Buy and spent some time with the Ultra. It’s not that big and comfortable to hold but definitely on the heavier side. S20+ felt the best to hold in hand.

But the real show stealer was the Z flip, store was not that crowded and the Samsung rep was super friendly. She removed the Z flip from the glass casing and let me play with it for 5-10 minutes. Definitely well made and very impressive, my first experience with foldable phone. I asked her to take the fold but she said people were going to stores and breaking the folds (crazy folks) and she couldn’t take that one out since its damaged. Was so impressed that if they had the unlocked one in stock i would have bought it . Lucky for my wallet they didn’t have any

I understand the impulse but I still say they are a bad idea. They are attention getters, especially the fold but I don't need the attention. As much as I freely spend, it's a no go for me and I like gadgets.

Yeah I agree on the attention and I don't like people bothering me as well about asking what I'm carrying or what that is. But honestly I was surprised how polished the Z flip felt and it was cool to fold the phone into half and put in your pocket. Granted the utility might be limited and over priced as expected but overall it didn't feel bad. May be my expectations for it was too low to begin with that it surprised me. Also, it was just 5-10 minutes of time with it so I don't know using it on daily basis how it'll feel.

I think its durability is the big question. Like the fold the crease is still an issue and a plastic screen just doesnt cut it either.

Just handled the entire lineup at Best Buy. I have to say, the Ultra is not that bad in terms of size. It’s narrower than my 11 Max and makes that a big difference as far as one handed use. I think the S20+ is a perfect size though. Overall, they are beautiful devices so if you purchased one, you should be very happy.

That's great to hear. I have an 11 pro max too.

Being tall is hell on an airplane, but it does mean larger phones are easier to handle. :)

Just played with the S20+ at Costco. Very impressed. I do like that there is more true screen real estate with the edges not being rounded as much. The 120 hz refresh rate is an awesome feature. Can't wait for my S20 Ultra to come in next week!

I thought the S20+ was the perfect size/weight. The Ultra is too heavy and bulky for me and sadly it's the only one that seemed like a commendable camera upgrade from my S10. I could just imagine how bulky it would feel with a case, but it's mainly the weight that's a turn off (just trying to imagine working all day with it in my pocket or walking around the boardwalk or amusement park all day the weight would have to get annoying after a while). The plus and regular S20s don't have enough camera upgrades to make me jump up from my S10. If they could of got the Ultra's camera in the Plus models size/weight then it would of been a solid upgrade for me with the trade in deal but I think I'm going to pass. At the very least the Ultra should come with 256Gb standard for the same price. Mix in the fact that I would have to come up with workarounds to play music in my truck that only has an AUX jack the S20s are pretty much a flop for me. Give me the accessory credit towards the final price of the phone instead of Samsung store credit then I might be willing to gamble with the size and weight of the Ultra but I don't think something that's going to be in my pocket all day that weighs that much is for me when at best, I'll use the nice zoom at about five events a year then the rest of the time I suffer with something nagging me in my pocket...

Just played with an Ultra at the Xfinity store while waiting to return some equipment. I'm really digging the size. Yeah it's tall but it's not as wide as the Note10+ which makes it easier to manage with one hand. Even though the 120hz works on 1080 only the screen still looks great and text is still clear. and at least you can still use the 6x6 gid or whatever the highest is on the home screen and app drawer so everything doesn't look so oversized and you can utilize the screen real estate. Camera was great but that because lighting was great in the store. Wish I could've tested in dimmer light. But overall I can't wait to receive my Ultra.

Also went to Best Buy. The ultra is nice. I can’t wait to get mine in. Currently using a note 10. My favorite phone to come out last year aside from maybe the fold.
