Spotify Interfering with Google Podcasts - Pixel 4a5g

Whenever I'm listening to a podcast on Google Podcasts via Bluetooth and I open Spotify to add a song to a playlist, Spotify stops the podcast and resumes playing whatever song was playing last time the app was open.

I've tried disabling Autoplay in Spotify but Autoplay in Spotify means "Keep listening to similar tracks when your music ends".

Are there any Pixel Settings or Google Podcast settings that can stop Spotify from taking over when I open it?

I think that might be a Spotify issue -- you may want to send the Spotify devs some feedback.
