Sprint 2.1 leak

Out of curiosity how long does the 2.1 upgrade take. Mine has been going for 3 hours now and doesn't seem to be done. The screen goes from the HTC to the Sprint. I have looked at it with the debug monitor and it appears to still be loading files.

If you see the sprint logo flash more then once, your in boot loop need to reboot recovery wipe and then it should take about 10 min.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am sure it has been answered before so sorry for any inconvenience.

I just want say thankyou and hats off to the regulars on here that are giving out all the help and advice. You guys are all class!!
I have been on many forums regarding many subjects through the years and NEVER have I seen so much friendly help giving so relentlessly as I have seen here. Usually people say read the faqs or do a search because questions been answered already or many other snotty replies but not here. You guys never seem to tire and you make this site quality!
My phone rocks now and I thank you all very much.

I think its because we've all been in that position where someone tells you to search instead of helping, when they could have just helped and saved you time in the process. No one asks for help because they are lazy, they ask because they are truly lost. I remember a car forum I was on put little green orbs with an N inside it to let everyone know they were a newb. It wasn't vbulletin like this site, so in order to find someone's post count, you'd have to actually open up their profile. It was a good idea, cause when you are dealing with cars, the repercussions of bad advice cost more than on a cell phone.

Just a quick FYI, I finally fixed my phone.....it took a week, but I did it. Beezy, again, thanks for trying to help before. You pushed me in the right direction.....
After HOURS and DAYS of reading messages on the XDA forums, asking for advice, trying different methods, I FINALLY got my phone back to 100% stock and my problem went away. So if anyone else breaks their phone after using that 2.1 RUU devil file, it IS POSSIBLE to get back from option 1. It was a BITCH and wouldn't want to do it again, but I do have original Hboot, radio.....the whole 9.

that's great news you mind sharing exactly how you accomplished this?

So I put this on my Hero a couple of days ago and aside from a different screen when I turn it on, this is the exact same as the Damagecontrol release. And it has more lag.

i officially jacked something up in my attempt to flash the sprint hero 2.1 lite ROM. i flashed successfully and rebooted but the phone is stuck in a reset cycle only stopped by removing the battery. cmd line doesn't even recognize the device. what did i do and what can i do now? any ideas?

how does one "reboot recovery wipe" if the phone gets stuck in boot loader and the cmd prompt doesn't even recognize the device? what have i done?

Pull the battery, replace it then hold HOME then hit reset, when you see the HTC Logo you may release the home key. this will take you into recovery from there, You need to wipe all data from recovery.

thanks flipphone and thanks beezy for the suggestions... but for some reason, i'm still having issues: i booted into recovery. i wiped data and i reflashed the option 4. i rebooted and it's still stuck on the HTC screen... i am so totally LOST and the title of "Android Nanite" that i carry is apparently extremely appropriate.

footnote, AS I WAS TYPING THIS POST, it booted correctly and WORKED! forget everything i just said except for me being a tard.

Don't worry. I did the same thing last night when I was trying to apply an audio fix. Phone refused to get past the HTC screen. I wiped, then wiped some more and nothing fixed it. I ended up copying over a different rom and flashing that one. From recovery you can connect your phone to your PC via the USB option. Once I flashed the new one it worked again.

Er, i just put option three on my phone as well as some live wallpaper roms and i had over 1100 pictures put onto my sd card that looked like they were from someone elses phone. Odd. Just thought id mention it.

I flashed option 2 and it's pretty nice. However, I was wondering
a) Does anyone know where I can get a working tun.ko? Does the kernel in option 3
have that?
b) If option 3 does have it, can I flash it without having to wipe absolutely everything again? Or alternatively, can I just steal the .ko?
