Sprint family plan vs adding 2nd line?

I have two evos, both on separate plans; reason I did separate plans than family is the fact that you can upgrade both phones after a year, whereas the family plan, only the main line gets to upgrade and the second (or more) line(s) have to wait two years to upgrade.

I feel this is beneficial and I also have a discount. So win win situation.

If you have an existing Sprint account, it cannot be converted to one of the Everything Plus plans Sprint | Everything Plus(SM) Referral Program. SERO and Everything Plus plans cannot be discounted, and yes, discounts are not stackable. Only way I know of to convert the plans, would be to temporarily port out to a different carrier, establish a new account with new temp numbers, then port the numbers back in to replace the temporary ones. As far as seperating plans to gain an earlier discount for both lines, this is really a fine line. Assuming rounding up to 70.00 - 25%= $52.50 *2= $105.00 a month for non-shareable 900 minutes a month. Adding an approximate 15% taxes and fees, adds up to about $120.75 a month. Assuming $130.00 -25%= $97.50 for the share plan. Adding tax is $112.12 a month. Difference is about $8.63 a month. Multiply this by 12 months, the total savings for the shared plan would be about $103.56. Since the early upgrade would only change the one year upgrade from $75 to $150, you are actually losing $28.56 if both upgrade once a year. Also, while the primary person on a shared plan 99.99 or higher can upgrade every year, this can be changed after the primary has upgraded. Changing this ranking, the new primary gains full eligibility after 3 months, then change it back to the first number. I have 5 lines on my share plan and all of us on a round robin pattern, can each upgrade our phones every 15 months

You should see if your job or school have any kind of discounts. I have the Family !29.99 but an additional 3 lines and a 23% discount, we each pay about 50 a month and 1500 minutes is well over. We always have 700-800 left each month. Can complain about that

First of all, I just got my new EVO from sprint.com (shipped next day) and am loving it so far. I signed up for the Everything Data 450 plan.

Now here's the downside ... after seeing the BIG grin on my face every time I pull it out (uh, the EVO that is) my wife wants to toss her ancient dumb phone (she has AT&T basic service) and get one too.

A rep at the local Sprint store says I would need to sign up for the Everything Data Family plan (2 lines with 1500 voice minutes) which is $129.99 plus $20 ($10 each for the '4G tax'), or $149.99 a month. That is almost double my current plan ($79.99)!

Is it possible to order a 2nd EVO online and just ADD a line to my plan for $30 or $40 extra? We don't need the extra minutes since 450 a month is plenty for both of us.

Thanks for any advice!

You can get a discount on those lines on the family plans. Did yo utry that
