Sprint Galaxy S3: Anybody try the M.O.A.R.?

Re: Anybody try the M.O.A.R.?

Meyerweb, thank a lot for all your help. You always help me out man.

I really like this ROM. The battery life is awesome and I just found out about the LMT launcher that you can add. Anyway, I reflashed the ROM with morphology because I wanted to change try different launchers and have different grid sizes. I didnt clear data or cache. I know you stated that it is not necessary to do if running only morphology, but what if I reflash the whole ROM?

In regards to the kernal. I flashed several different kernals to try them out. When I install one kernal, does that overwrite the next kernal or do I have to manually delete previous kernals (I read that some kernals may cause problems)?

In the process of reflashing the ROm through clockwork, I saw the smemo, voice recorder and other apps even though I didnt put the add on package from my phone. Is this from the previous MD4 ROM? Am I able to flash these apps from clockwork mod recovery?

Thanks

I've run morphology a number of times this way, and not cleared cache or data, so I think you're OK. If things seem to start acting weird after you do this, you can always boot to recovery and wipe cache and dalkvik. I don't think you'd need to wipe data unless you flashed a new (different) ROM. I went from stock MB1 to leaked MC3 to MOAR MC3 to MOAR MD4 wiping only cache and dalvik, not data, and everything seems to be fine.

Only one kernel at a time can exist on the phone. There's no need to delete anything. In fact, I don't know any way to do so.

Interesting question. I didn't pay that much attention to what was displayed on the screen during the flash. Do you have those apps on your phone? I don't on mine. You should be able to install them through CWM by flashing the 4.1.2 add-on app package.

Re: Anybody try the M.O.A.R.?

Hey guys, i flashed MOAR the other day and so far it is really sweet. However I can not get my laptop to connect to the internet when i use the built in tether. If I use WIFI tether it works fine so I have that as a fall back but was not sure if there was a setting i missed or something.
J-

I just got this working, Joe. It appears the hotspot app requires device control. With the hotspot activated, tap on the hotspot row in notifications, tap Allowed devices, click the + icon at the top right. enter a device name and the MAC address of your laptop. If you have Windows 7, you can get the MAC address by typing cmd in the search box on the start menu, then type ipconfig / all . Use the scroll bar to go to the top, find the "physical address" line, and enter those values in the MAC address row on your phone.

Re: Anybody try the M.O.A.R.?

The apps are not on my phone, but it seems that the option to install them appear on CWM recovery even though I did not put the add on package to my phone. I will try it out when I have free time later tonight.

Another question, I tried watching a video on HULU PLus last night but when it got to the ad portion of the video, it would state "unable to view ad" (something like that) and then the app would close. I am assuming this is because an ad blocker is on? Is there any way to shut this off?

You're the man meyerweb. I saw this and thought it would only work for the mb1 (I have md4). Anyway, it worked perfectly. I just with there was a way to turn the ad block on and off, but I'm just glad that I can watch hulu again

Re: Anybody try the M.O.A.R.?

You could load AdAway from the play store. It will make it a bit easier to turn blocking on and off when you want to.

Re: Anybody try the M.O.A.R.?

The preview is up. If I am on the moar rom can I just wipe cache without factory resetting and flash? Would the factory reset guarantee me less Probst?

Re: Anybody try the M.O.A.R.?

Do a Nandroid, then do a dirty flash. If you have issues, you can always restore and then reinstall with a factory reset.

Re: Anybody try the M.O.A.R.?

I think the download links in xda are bad. i just downloaded both links on two different computers and twrp keeps saying fail. keep open the zip.

Re: Anybody try the M.O.A.R.?

5.0 is good so far. I even dirty flashed. Love the rom. Just wanted to know if they can add a screen/color calibration tweak.

What do you mean by "keep open the zip"? You shouldn't be opening the zip yourself. Just copy the entire zip file to your phone.

You should make feature requests on XDA. The MOAR dev doesn't come to this forum.

Re: Anybody try the M.O.A.R.?

I just loaded 5.01 last night. I like some of the extra features, and the redesigned settings menu.

Re: Anybody try the M.O.A.R.?

i just flashed the rom and no signal and now my phone is stucc on the moar screen

Re: Anybody try the M.O.A.R.?

You'll have to pull the battery and start over, happened to me yesterday.

Re: Anybody try the M.O.A.R.?

Hey Dave, I just thought of one thing you might want to try. Go to Settings / System Update and update PRL and Profile.

Re: Anybody try the M.O.A.R.?

Thanks, I tried that earlier but will have to wait until tomorrow morning to see if the 4G acts right, I am in 3G area at my house in South Jersey, they just started working on the towers around here. My speeds were less than 3G today and the connection kept dropping mid test. Also depletes the battery when that happens, I am curious on how the battery is going to hold up. I do like the extra volume, but when I turned on an equalizer it did get low again, I'll have to run morphology and change to real loud when I feel like playing again.

I really like the battery bar at the top and the animation that it does, makes it easy on my old eyes.

I just ran a 3G test and it seems better, 2.7 Mbps down.

Re: Anybody try the M.O.A.R.?

I installed the MOAR ROM yesterday and couldn't get my wifi to work. Everytime I turned it on it turned itself back off. I reflashed the stock 4.3 rom back and all is fine. I also tried the clean ROM 8.1 and had the same issue with Wifi. It seem all the custom roms I try get no wifi. Is there a way for me to get the wifi back, I am following the OP to a tee.

I have the Verizon Galaxy S3 i535 with the latest (crappy) 4.3 OTA update.

Thanks in advance.

I just tried it again loaded the MOAR "Mother Of All ROMS" and also installed the ML1 Modem.zip.....Still no Wi-Fi....Puzzled...Please Help.
