So I picked up the galaxy s7 for sprint and im looking at the signal strength and its showing between 1 and 3 bars but when i go into about device> status > sim card status; the db doesnt match up to what is showing in the bar grap at the top of the phone. I did a side check with an iphone and it is showing 4 bars where my su is showing 1 to 3, anybody have any ideas as fo how to fix it.

Bars are arbitrary and often differ from device to device at the same dbm levels. If you want an accurate reading, download signal check pro, which will give you a wealth of info including actual signal levels.

I did download signal check and it shows my signal at 85 dbm but my signal bars give me 1 bar to 2 and i still get dropped calls and this is on evdo only, the lte evdo combo is sporatic. idk

Hi road_kill. I'm a Sprint Product Ambassador and want to try and help. RSSI spec for our devices should be in line with standard Android signal indicator spec that any OEM would build to. There is not a Sprint specific RSSI spec anymore for our Android devices. The signal indicator will reflect whatever the access network that the device is connected to for any given time, so if on CDMA 1x for voice, that signal strength may differ from what you see for LTE as they are different frequencies and technologies. How is the actual performance of the device in terms of network? Real world experience is the true test of performance vs just bars alone in my experience.
