Sprint HTC One - Android 4.3 Update - Discussion Thread

I'm finding the exact same thing. I called HTC and was told that they would be pushing out another OTA update. We'll see how this goes!

Was this release supposed to address the camera issues with the HTC One in low light settings? I have found with 4.3 the red and purple hues I get are even worse...

It seems that my gmail account isn't syncing and notifying me after the update. Any help?

I'm sure Sprint fans everywhere are hearing the news about the HTC One being the first US Carrier to push out the 4.3 update to the branded versions.

Recieved the update, want to share your experience?

Got a bug?

Anything else?

Enjoy!

I have a 602 area code number, live in Tampa, FL, the update is downloading now.. 574.05MB in size.

I'm definitely seeing a much weaker signal. Where I was getting 4-6 bars before the update I am now getting 1-3.

Weird....I've noticed that as soon as I start dialing I get a signal boost (+4 bars). As soon as I end the call it goes back to 1 or 2 bars.

I've seen what seems to be slower data speeds and a decrease in the "visual" representation of reception. I havent noticed if there was a change in real world reception or not yet.

What's new in Blinkfeed? Only difference I see is menu button tap brings you to top of feed

So here are a few things I see missing that I'm kind of upset about :
- No photosphere in the camera
- No percentage in the battery in the notification bar
- I'm still seeing that annoying menu bar at the bottom - I thought there was supposed to be a modification to the use of the home button to get rid of this.

Am I missing something on these??

Battery percentage and home button for menu bar are in settings, you have to activate them, battery percentage is in settings-power click show battery level, I think the menu button control is under settings-display,gestures and buttons

Out where? Just because Sprint is better in one place doesn't mean it's a better network. Sprint still doesn't have consistent LTE coverage in LA and where it does the speeds are abysmal. My friend's GS4 got 3mb/s download and 1 upload here with LTE 5/6 bars. I get better speeds on 4G on T-Mo. Sprint has pretty good coverage but in large markets like LA the speeds are terrible.

Definitely getting weaker signal here as well. Completely losing it alot of the time. I'm also not able to send/receive text messages. :(
Had the same issue with not being able to send texts. As soon as I would hit send my phone would go into roaming and then I would get an message stating that the text could not be sent. I updated the Profile and the PRL and the issue went away.

I'm guessing the signal it shows now is data instead of voice. When I make a phone call it switches to 4G and it always has 4 bars even if I only get 2 or 3 on LTE

I'm on an S4 though so it could be different, also on T-Mo not Sprint XD Just my thoughts...

This is in response to lacough about signal issue:

Yes I am having the exact same issue. I have the app SignalCheck Pro installed and have had for awhile. It appears from monitoring that app over time that on 4.1.2 the signal strength algorithm for displaying bars was based on the voice (1X) signal. After the 4.3 update it appears to now be basing it on the signal strength of the data connection. So if I'm on 4G and have a weak data signal my phone will show 1 bar even though my voice coverage decibel strength is sub -80. If I'm on 3G it will base it on the EV-DO signal strength and only when I'm on 1X does it base the bars on voice coverage.

Yes, it is now functioning just like AOSP (vanilla) Android.
