Sprint LG G2: Battery life is terrible

Re: Battery life is terrible

Disabling Google location settings in the Google Settings app vastly improved my battery life. I can sometimes go three or four days on a charge with light to medium usage.

Re: Battery life is terrible

I didn't think this was new thread worthy, but I got my first rapid battery drop last night. Without using the phone at all, I lost 8% in a few hours. That had not happened in the first few weeks of owning the phone. According to Gsam and the battery app in settings, the app that was using all of the battery was "google play services". I don't use Google Now, so I don't think that is the problem. I restarted my phone and that fixed it...for now.

Does anyone know if there is an actual fix for this? Or is restarting every once in a while the only way to solve the issue?

I'm having great life but Instagram is a huge battery drain but with sprint and always jumping to different bands in my area it kinda takes it toll

My battery life has been great.

I've been experiencing rapid battery drain as well. Google maps was the culprit but it's possible that another app was piggy backing on it for information.

Given that Kit-Kat is right around the corner even if any particular issue is resolve today, the next update could easily change that for better or worse. I'm guessing better since it has been out for other devices quite some time now.

One thing I've noticed and cant seem to figure out why.
Is inconsistent battery drain.
I read that I can use the Blackberry Playbook Rapid charger which I have since I owned a Playbook. (works charms I can charge my phone in maybe an hour with no use)
well anyways I charge my phone every night same spot. Some nights I wake up(1am) noticed batt is full so I unplug and no apps running... I got to work @ 8a still have 100%-98% batt..
but other nights same scenario, but with a 2hr gap battery is at 50%-67% from 6am-8am no use.

I have noticed in the past week a pretty significant battery drain on my LG G2. I've been trying to figure this out since my battery life was fantastic prior to last week. For example in the last 3 hours, my phone has used 26% battery and it's been mostly sitting on my counter unused. It's connected to my Wifi. The 2 biggest battery users are Android System (42%) and Android OS (17%). I'm not sure if that is linked to the last software update release by Sprint, but I have no idea why this has started seemingly all of a sudden. Also, my Email is no longer sync-ing properly. I've restarted my phone several times, I even adjusted my battery usage per the recommendation I found on Sprint.com to no avail. I'm not savvy at all so any suggestions would really help.

Definitely do a reboot to clear out your cache. You may want to check your sync settings to make sure you don't have anything set to sync more than necessary. Also if you have set your phone to do back ups over Wi-Fi there are times when pictures will get uploaded to Google+ that can cause significant battery drain. Other than that could be a rogue app but this problem seems to come and go on its own.

Turns out it was my Email app. I don't think it was syncing properly so I removed my account then added it back in. That seemed to do the trick! My battery life is back to where it was.

My wife is getting terrible battery life. She has white version. He phone came with Day Dream turned on. I have the black version. Excellent battery life. Phones are basicly set up similar. I'm trying to figure out the difference.

Its consistently inconsistent. Some days I can't kill the battery others it drains before 8 pm. My usage is pretty stable so I don't know what causes it. My blackberry Z10 gets better battery life!

I just returned from Orlando and my battery AND extended battery were not giving me 8 hours.
No GPS, No Wi-Fi, and often No service.
It was a miserable few days trying to get any work done.
Help.

I bought a barely used LS980 LG G2 and the battery is terrible. I don't even have a phone service connected and very little use but it is running out of juice after 10 hours and threatening to shut down. It is on wi-fi and 3g. What is the advertised 3000 m??? That should give me 50 hours especially since there is hardly any use except for random fb or email. I just got it about a week or 2 ago. I hope there is a solution to this.

Have you installed a battery monitor like GSam? Do that and see what is using the battery. Without information like that there is little any of us could do to assist.
