Has anyone been able to transfer or recieve files with a different manufacturer via wifi direct? I tried sending my co-worker(G2) a file via wifi direct from my Note 2 and kept getting failed file transfer. I also tried doing it with super beam and still a no go.

I've been having trouble receiving AND sending files from and to my G2 using wifi direct and even using NFC. :(

I don't pretend to be an expert but in the quick menu do you have NFC chosen or direct/android beam? The direct android beam is on on my phone and it shows two rectangles at the top of the screen with arrows going either direction. I have sent files to my sons galaxy s3 with my g2. Maybe check that?

Samsung's Wifi Direct is using a slightly different protocol.
Apps like SuperBeam will connect them, but the Sprint hotspot setting has a firewall. After about 20 seconds it disconnects.
