Sprint Note 3: default calendar issue

I've added several email accounts but cannot choose a calendar when creating an appointment. The Calendars and Settings option are not available, seems like the app is malfunctioning. I am dreading a factory restore, is there a way to uninstall and reinstall the app?

When you say default calendar are you referring to the Gmail or "Email" app? Either way, you can open System Settings > Applications > Email (you might need to view "All". From there either clear cache/clear data and see if that helps.

thanks, tried it but it did not resolve the issue.

Are you talking about the stock Samsung calendar? There is a option when you add an event to pick the calendar, do you not have that option or you do but it just won't stick?

Yes, I am referring to the default calendar. There is not an option to choose a calendar. Within the calendar app, pressing menu displays Go to, Delete, Search, and Sync. There is not an option for Calendars or Settings.
