I've been seeing some tweets of ppl that have said they talkd to a sprint Rep.and ec05 has been pulled!?!anyone no more I hope this isn't try...but I could so c it happening again with sprint

(Obviously this is for going from stock DI18 to EC05. Don't know if/when a EB13 to EC05 update will be made so don't ask lol)

Rename the file to “update.zip”

Move the file to the root of your SD card on the Epic 4G

Shutdown your Epic 4G

Boot your phone into Recovery Mode
(Push and hold the the Volume Down Button, the Camera Button, and the Power Button altogether until recovery mode displays.)

Use Volume Down button to hightlight “apply sdcard:update.zip”.

Press the “Home” soft key to select.

Here is the link that I dl'ed from

5f372cb40834.update-SPH-D700_DI18ToEC05.zip

Copied the file to my SD card and renamed to update.zip

I odin'ed to DI18

Booted into stock recovery, applied update.zip

Booted into EC05 and turn on debugging for usb

Applied CWM 2.5.5 and gained root

Rebooted into CWM 2.5.5 and installed Twilight Zone Kernel v1.01

Installed CWM 3.0.0.6

Installed ACS ROM 1.02

Back to how it was before I updated! WOOHOO!

Now to just wait for the ROMs to be cooked up.

Please tell me this isn't true???? Although it would explain the lack of info on EC05. I kknow more than a few people that have Epics and don't know anything about this forum, and none of them have received any kind of update. So its not just us here on the forum.

Them butts!!! I just talked to a rep 4 hours ago and she said it was still on and just rolling out slowly. This is a perfect example of one hand not knowing what the other is doing.

They said the update would take place starting March 21st through March 24th, with EVERYONE getting the update by the 24th. So how slow do they plan on going? They would have to do a mass push of the update starting now to get everyone done by tomorrow the 24th. Somehow I just don't see this happening..

I don't want to dwell on this, but I specifically stated that this update is out now, OTA. A very few people have gotten it, but it is live. Its not being QCed, wait time at this point is just bad execution, not due dilligence.

I don't know how you know this, but OK.

Anyway, now there are rumblings that the update was pulled. Presumably because of glitches. IF that's the case consider me among those who consider them fortunate I didn't get a buggy update. I'd rather wait a little longer for something solid. And even more than that I'd rather not wait at all for something solid...

I haven't even received the text message about Sprint ID yet! I know it's a virtual meaningless nothing, but to me, at least it's something!

I'm on eb13 and I just got the text about sprint id this afternoon. Not saying it means anything, just saying. I will just keep eb13 anyways. I have no problems with it.

Fyi I was the one who received the update yesterday and I have not had any problems since installing it. Phones running smoother and faster if anything.
