Sprint Tri-Band LTE Phone Discussion Thread aka Sprint Spark

Re: Official Sprint Tri-Band LTE Phone Discussion Thread aka Sprint Spark

BTW on band 25 i was at one location able to get 23 Mbps down and 9 Mbps up!!! i thought i was on band 41 with a decent upload but it was band 25. Still have yet to see a decent upload on band 41

also wish Sprints coverage map wasn't a complete lie. Wish it was like tmobiles map :/

Sorry I did not see this when posted.

You need your MSL code.
Go to your dialpad and enter ##DATA#
Scroll down to LTE and you can view or edit.
This is where to enter the MSL code if you want to edit.
Then you can enable/disable all bands and priorities to your heart's content.

I have both 25 and 41 enabled with 25 top priority.
It's gonna be a bit before any Band 26 is out there so it remains disabled.

Let me know if you have any questions.

@Mav, Was wondering if it matters what location you are in to activate the band's you have or actually the same way you have it?

do you mean could some people not see band 25 very much but see band 41 more so want to prioritize band 41? The answer would be yes. Parts of Chicago are much better covered with band 41 than band 25. just pay attention so the engineering section in phone ##debug# or whatever. I posted the link to the page that talked about signals and how to tell a page back i think.

I still roll with stock settings and it works fine for me.

Re: Official Sprint Tri-Band LTE Phone Discussion Thread aka Sprint Spark

HOLY FREAKIN CRAP!!!!!!

Sprints band 41 is totally signal dependent!!!! You can't get crap upload if you don't have good signal because your phone cant transmit band 41 (2500mhz) worth crap. Check these speeds out. I was at -85 to -95 dbm or whatever!!!! Sprint wasn't joking on 60Mbps being possible!!! I was hella close!

44.55 Mbps 13.67 Mbps!!!!!!!!!!!

normally get 12-25 down and .03-3 up so that must be because of crap signal. -85 to -95 is only a decent signal

excel sheet of tests!!!

their LTE is definitely meh over all but when you got it with good signal it is pretty good. Granted i am not complaining unlimited data so i don't care. Already like 30GB in....haven't had much to download when i actually have a signal. Haven't started to download my 600 game steam account yet lol. That is pushing speeds beyond wireless N ahahaha (1/2 channel) School only lets me get 3 MBps on average on 150 mbps and 6 MBps on 300 mbps wireles n.

Just got my unlocked 32GB Black Nexus 5 activated on Sprint in Loganville, GA (near Atlanta). LTE is fast everywhere. Love having pure unadulterated Android Kitkat 4.4.2 and zero Sprint bloatware. Just waiting for Spark now.

Do Band 25 as Priority 1 and Band 41 as Priority 2.

You can only set bands to priority 1 and 0 lol

So
25:1
26:0
41:0
?

Switching from band 41 made no difference.

Looks like the Sprint Spark OTA update could start later this month:

P.S. Other good info on a new Sprint plan and Spark cities.

I hope so because so far, turning on the tri-bands on my N5, has done ZERO difference on my daily service. I drive ALL day long Miami wide, and have yet seen Spark speeds. I still get the normal LTE I would with my S3.

I've yet to see anything past 32 down. That's on my old S3 and now too on my N5. Miami has spark, but feels exactly the same as before....even changing my bands priority.
