Sprint Visual Voicemail Overseas?

Quick question. With visual voicemail, the message is sent to your phone via data correct? I'm going overseas tomorrow and obviously won't be using CDMA service. I was wondering if the phone would download any voicemails over wifi from a different country.

I don't know about Sprint's VVM, but I know for a fact Google Voice is via data. I have had my voicemail forward to Google voice for years now, back when I had phones that didn't have Sprint's vvm capability. So if Sprint's can't or doesn't do it, maybe that's an option for you?

Well, I ended up forwarding to GV like you suggested and it worked really well. I might just leave it that way. Thanks.

I'm still curious about my original question but it's obviously not critical.
