Sprint's LG G2: Official KitKat info - Candy coated goodness.

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Official KitKat info - ***Release starts March 31st***

Update came through around midnight. I saw that it was there, but decided to wait until morning to deal with it. It installed fine this morning, I haven't done a FDR yet, and am debating if I want to or not. But, so far so good. The phone is running fine and everything seems to be normal. :)

Got the update this morning. Didn't do a FDR or restore my backup and everything is running in tip top shape. EXCEPT for the bluetooth thats draining battery but not on.

I haven't done an FDR either. I'll only do that if I see a reason performance wise to do so.

I did fdr, figured I would kill two birds with one stone: 1) never did a restore with LG backup, and 2) have always heard it's a good idea after Android version updates.

Took me maybe an extra half hour to do, so overall not a big deal at all.

I finally got Kitkat Friday morning. After playing with it all weekend, i just want to say I'm really mad at you all. I see no differences that were worth all the impatience and frustration and excessive button mashing. :( stupid kitkat. No cool shinies to play with.

Not really "shiny", but go to Settings->Location to see the last apps that have utilized GPS.

Now go turn on Google Wallet.
Now go use an alternative launcher and use transparent nav and status bars.

Are you not seeing performance improvements either? I think having a more optimized OS alone is worth upgrading.

Honestly? No. Don't get me wrong though, I just never experienced any lag before kitkat. Could it be milliseconds faster? Sure, but not something I notice.

I'm with Mikey. Probably some improvements but it's like dvd vs blu ray. The difference is only noticeable probably if youre really looking for it.

FWIW, I am seeing noticeably improved battery life. I know many people were getting outstanding battery life before and when my phone was new it was also outstanding, but as I added various apps battery life plunged. Same phone, same apps, battery life is much improved.

The biggest two problems I'm having is quite frequently it won't let me answer phone calls. I try numerous times and it doesn't let me. Very annoying.

Also considering that I don't use hangouts or the stock messaging app. Since the update, plenty of third party messengers will rotate vertical photos onto their side. Also very annoying

Anyone else having this problem,I can make phone calls, but it won't receive calls. This all started after the update and sprint mistakenly stop my service, which is back on now.

If you read the post right above yours, you'll see that BecomingDeath13 is having the same problem.

The post above mine says it won't let him answer calls, mine doesn't even ring. I can make calls, send and receive msg's but it won't ring when someone calls.

before I updated to kitkat, when at home and have wifi on,the phone worked with absolutely no problems.Since the update,I can make calls, receive and send msg's,but no incoming calls (will not ring or show any incoming calls) while wifi is on,but if I turn wifi off and use 3G the phone works normal again. Any ideas how to fix this problem.

Well LG support thinks it's what I was thinking.
They're saying it's possibly a software glitch and I need to ship it to them for repair.

The bad things about that are:
1. No G2 for a couple weeks.
2. I'll have to revert the the old EVO 4G.

So, if for some magical reason I stop logging on. Chances are I died from being forced back in time. Wish me luck 😰😰
