Sprint's LG G2: Official KitKat Tips, Tricks, Traps, Problems, Concerns, LIkes, Dislikes Thread.

Has anyone gotten use to the MMS menu now. It gives me a Google Drive theme and shows all my media now (cloud and device).

I personally like the new menus, but they will take some time to get used to. I'm having a hard time spotting all the little changes, I'll see something and think it looks different but it's such a small change I second guess whether or not it's really a change lol.

I hate to say it but my battery is draining quicker then normal. I have 1hr 40 min and I'm already at 83%. The phone has literally been sitting idle on my desk. Pre kit Kat it would be at 83% by the time I got home from work. Guess I'll try a factory reset when I get home, I usually do after an update but didn't have time last night to back everything up. Anyone else having battery drain issues?

Do you have any apps that use the camera? That is a known bug for KitKat that some apps like snapchat cause the camera to turn on in the background draining the battery.

Have you tried looking to see what app(s) are being greedy with your battery? A full reset may not be needed.

You might have some apps draining your battery.

My phone has been off the charger since before I went to sleep. Plus like 30 minutes of screentime. Before this update I'd be around 90%.

My battery drain was high yesterday. But I saw that I had a camera scanner app on my phone. I'm going to take that off and see if that works.

I don't know if this has been asked before, but can the LG G2 group message with iPhone users or etc. Like are the messages in one thread or do they come in individually and if I reply does it go to the group message thread or sent to everyone individually?? I'm asking in this post to see if it was added in the KK update.

Good question. I believe LG fixed that in KK. I don't use the stock messenger though, I use Textra and it has always supported it lol.

Well I know a friend on T-Mobile is able to, so I believe the sprint version is able to also, but I'm about to find out....

I'd be more than happy to test it for you if I can gather a few people to start one up.

I don't see a setting for it in the stock messaging app, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. I just looked since there used to be a setting in my s3 to turn it off. I did see the option for it in hangouts but I don't use that for sms.

Ugh, hope it's not just my phone. No apps like snapchat on my phone, and no new apps that weren't also on jb. I'll give it some more time before worrying about it tho. Thanks for your suggestions.

Go SMS allows group messaging and the ability to split them between recipients.

There are plenty of good third-party applications to do that.
Textra
Chomp sms
Go sms pro
Handcent sms

Personally though yes, I do recommend textra. It's made by the team that makes Chomp. It's also a much lighter application. None of the needless bloat some other apps carry, plus the popup on textra is my preference. Textra does however give a notification icon per contact. So if 3 people text you, you will have 3 different icons in your notification bar.

EDIT: I have actually switched to Vegas sms just because I got the urge to try something new. It looks to also support group. I usually always go back to textra though.

Has anyone noticed the brightness doesn't go as dark as it used too?
