Can you use this file to update the phone?

Wait for the update to hit someone's phone, then they will either post the update link to Google's server or the update zip itself.
You can then take the file yourself and apply the update. As long as you haven't modified any system files, it will pass and update everything. It's like forcing the OTA early.

Specifically, this is the open source code used to build the binaries that are then used to update the phone. There may be additional non-open bits that will be part of the update. But seeing this posted means the official update is complete and awaiting staging and roll-out from Sprint. Since this update enables "Spark," there may also be network configurations that are needed before Sprint wants to go live.

Nope. This would be the official update. It's just a way of getting it early.

I did not. I woke up this morning and checked my phone for the time and it said that an update was downloaded and ready to install

Got my update
Had to clear my Google Service Framework
Downloaded and updated
Added a new boot up screen

I wonder if the fact that I manually enabled tri band on my device is causing update issues.

I barely got 3g before. I stayed primarily on wifi. Once I got outside I would get 4G LTE but inside the house nothing

I changed the bands before the update but with the update do the priorities change or to they stay the same??
