If you can not update the prl and get the internal error, you will not be able to get the update ota. I had the same problem in december. I bought mine at launch so I was beyond my 30 days. I called sprint and they ended up sending me a brand new one in the box. Guy said it could of been a refirb phone but when he ordered it for me it came up as new in the box



Did you ever get that error on the new phone again ?

I'm not sure exactly how the update goes out, if its by geographical area or not. I'm in NJ and I have no update yet.

NJ here too. Nothing yet and I got my Epic on launch day. :(

According to the announcement from Sprint:

Released in stages beginning at 9PM on 2/21, with 100% of devices (on DI18) having received the update within 4 days

Looks like we'll be biting our nails till then... ;)

In regards to the latest post on home page lol : Am I the only 1 waiting for their epic froyo OTA and when reading this at 1st glance THOUGHT! they changed the date to 2/24/11! ~ talk about anal lol

@all, as you can see from the OP and a few posts here the official word is 9pm tonight before they start rolling out the OTA update. Until then things should be quiet.

That's 9PM in the time zone of some far away island nation....

What does user friendly tethering mean? Is this going to mess up my easytether usb tether, or is it going to allow usb tethering without app perhaps?
