Reporting that using the update.zip worked flawlessly from a stock (plus apps) Epic.

I did not have any issues as others reported with apps/widgets accesing the SD Card, and almost all of my settings were preserved. Same with my apps.

As reported above, I did have to re-enter my Google password after initital boot.

I have already succesfully moved apps to the SD Card. And the only "glitch", as also reported above, is that so far only my Facebook calendar has sync'ed. However, I will leave the phone for a while to give it time to sync.

I just updated 2 stock epics with the update.zip method, one worked perfectly but on the other one the Media Scanner isn't working correctly. This is causing many apps (camera, gallery, music player, video player) to either crash or report that there is not a SD card installed.

Do you have to be stock eclair to do the mac upgrade? I'm using eclair, rooted with custom rom and kernel, can I do the mac upgrade? Thanks!

see post #328 - it took a bit to copy the files off sd card, reformat sd card, then copy the data back to sd card...

everything works again!

What is the advantage of doing the update zip message over the samsung installer method? It seems there is more success using the samsung installer.

The android keyboard no longer auto corrects misspelled words. Tried turning it on/off a couple times with no luck. Other than that it's working fine.

- windows installer will completely wipe your phone.

I have performed the following with no issues.

- update.zip method from DI18
- Windows installer method from DI18
- Grabbed the Odin ".tar" file from the Windows Installer method and used Odin to flash with success.

Not bragging, just here to let people know what is working.

BTW, we have root access too! Check the Rooting,Hacking & ROMs section.

i dont know what i am doing wrong...i transfered all files into the sd card and wen i try to boot via apply setup:update.zip , it says files not found??? do I have to unzip modern file? Please help guys
