Anyone else having trouble with the phone not syncing all of their google calendars? I'm only getting a few of my calendars to come through and then it is missing a couple of those events.

yes you will lose root. Follow the thread that tells you how to return to stock/ fix a bricked phone. you will lose your data that's not synced with exchange or gmail.

I'm sure we'll have root figured out for EB13 figured out shortly.

Ok I cant find my root folder on my sd card where would it be?

currently copying everything from sd card to my pc....will reformat card and copy it all back....

this is really odd...but i guess sometimes there are hiccups.

hey guys really new to android and i can't figure out this step in manually updating phone. I have a mac and downloaded the file...these are the steps where I am lost...from samsungs website...
"5. Depending on the amount of volumes, one or two drives will appear on the right. Click on one to explore the file structure. Simply drag copy the update.zip file from the desktop to the microSD card volume.
Note: With USB debugging enabled, a window will pop up asking what to do with the connection. Click cancel and close the window out. It has no bearing on file transferring.
6. When finished, don't forget to eject the volume by dragging it towards the Trash."

I ran the apply update.zip. It completed and rebooted, but now it's in an endless loop of booting back to the system recovery screen. Any way to fix this?

failed update

I have done everything as instructed. when i apply the sdcard:update.zip the epic finds, opens and verifies then fails and aborts saying no such file or directory/signature verification failed. what am i doing wrong?

Any mirrors or anyone sharing? I am getting less than 10Kb/s from the Samsung site... 90megs hasn't taken this long to DL in a while...

Sorry, this is a total newb question. I had been running 2.1 stock. I have never done anything to my phone, but i got so excited to see a manual update was available, that i just updated via the update.zip method. now, after reading most of this thread, did i just screw myself by not waiting for the OTA update? Did i void my warranty? Did i just "root" my phone without knowing it? Do I need to reset it somehow?

How long should the wired update take? Mine seems to be frozen and says updating do not disconnect...what do i do, it has been this way for almost 15 minutes and the progress bar is not moving.

I did the manual update and all seemed fine, except my calendar is empty. The real google calendar is packed with stuff, and Epic says it is syncing, but nada.
Can anybody help me fix this?

Hello, this is my first post. Woot! I am running dk28 so how will this update work for me? I have read through every post in this thread and the other one on how to fix a bricked phone/ factory restore and all signs point to odin back to eclair. Just wondering if there is another way because I wanna get this update now! ;-)

for anyone having problems with the update.zip make sure it is the only update on your sd card (make sure the dk28 update is not still on your card)and make sure it says just update not update (1) or update (2) and if you are using the flash to do it check in the folder C:\Program Files\Samsung Electronics\SWUpgrade\Models\Binary to make sure there is only the EB13 tar file in there. if you had a moment and used this program before there is probably still an old file in there which must be removed before trying to flash.

woa....not good here....

stock epic, only rooted....

ran the manual update and after the unzip took and the phone restarted it's been dragging.... had a black screen for about 30 sec, but it finally came back....

but the colors look all off....and i'm getting constant force close errors....

going to reboot a few more times...

This happened with my best friends phone. He has a LOT of crap on his phone and SD card, took a good 2 hours to get it up and working.

Do not reset it, let android put all the crap where it is supposed to go, it will work just fine.
