Thanks for the App.

Just updated to SC 2.2.3 and there is now a problem with artwork being displayed with a significant delay.
As the next song on the play-list is displayed there is a delay of nearly a second. This was not present before the update. Has anyone else experience this problem?

I love the app & have it synced on 3 tablets around the house for multi-room audio.
I just replaced one of the tablets with a Teclast P80.
I have previously purchased tablet-mode, but am not sure if that registers when I download the app via Google Play. At any rate, the 'Change Mode' option is missing in the settings menu. While I am able to view the app in Landscape mode, everything is 'fullscreen', there is no icon allowing me to view the playlist & album art side-by-side. There is an icon at the top of screen (musical note) which switches between playlist & album art, but not both together. On the other tablets the 'Change Mode' button facilitates this.
I'm happy to make the in-app purchase again if required, but I can't see an option for this anywhere within Squeeze Ctrl?

With the latest version of the app, tablet mode is now included so it's not an account problem. Most likely you've set the DPI of your tablet too low. If there's a Display Size setting in your System Settings, you need to lower it. If you need to go to Developer settings to change it, then the Smallest Width setting has to be at least 600dp.

I Removes the app, and reinstalled, but same problem...

Try wiping the app's data, and no reinstalling doesn't wipe the data because of Android's auto backup system.

I have been using this app for years and it is a real winner. This week I tried a feature that I had not used before... Which is casting the Meta Data to my TV via Chromecast... This is really a great feature for when I have background music on at a dinner party, and people can look at the TV to find out what is actually playing, as they usually ask. It actually works pretty flawlessly, except for 1 minor glitch that I have noticed. Sometimes in the middle of a track, all of the Meta Data will disappear for about 2-3 seconds and be replaced by a large 'Squeeze Ctrl' banner in the center of the screen. After a few seconds the Meta Data will re-appear just fine... this does not happen very often at all, but if there is a setting that I could change to eliminate it, I would appreciate knowing about it. --- Wonderful app, so thanks Wayne !!

I think it's just an occasional Chromecast connection glitch.

I tried out CustomBrowse and it's not possible for Squeeze Ctrl to have a Jump List (hence no Fast Scroll letters either) for the custom menus. As far as I can tell the CustomBrowse plugin does not support generation of a list of letters for use in a jump list. I don't know how Squeeze Commander does it, but my best guess is that it downloads the entire list and internally generates the letters (unless it's using some undocumented commands for CustomBrowse).

Squeeze Ctrl cannot do that since it incremental loads every menu on demand; ie. it doesn't load the later parts of the menu until just before you've scrolled to them. This is to increase the speed of loading menus and is not something that I will change.

One possible solution is that LMS 7.9 has a built-in feature called "Additional Browse Modes" that can create simple filtered lists of the library. I took a quick look and it seems that this feature works in such a way that I should be able to retrieve what I need to create a Jump List. However, since 7.9 is a developmental version and new features like this would most likely change a lot before the development is done, I will not support a Jump List for menus created using this feature until the next stable version of LMS.

Nope, still not possible. That feature requires server support. Basically on some lists, the app can request an array of all the first letters of that list and the number of items that has each first letter. That info is what allows the app to jump down the list.

The custom lists support that was added to LMS still does not have that first letter list support.

As stated before to do it without server support requires the app to down the full list and then generate the jumplist, but that would defeat the purpose of progressively loading the list.

I use the Dynamic Playlists LMS plugin on a Smasung Android phone and Samsung Android Tablet, and have noticed that Squeeze Ctrl doesn't show all of my favourite and static playlists within the Dynamic Playlists menu - instead, after listing some of them, it seems to endlessly loop through the list it has, never getting to the end. This doesn't happen in the Logitech Media Server web interface or the Material Skin web view. Here's some screenshots by way of comparison:

Do you have more than 200 items in those lists? Squeeze Ctrl requests 200 items on the initial load of a list and then requests more as you scroll near the end of the 200 items. Some plugins seem to not be able to handle this, specifically it looks like it can't return a section of the list with an offset from the beginning of the list.

Now I'm not 100% sure that this is the case here since I haven't tried it, but I've seen something similar to this before. If it is the same problem, then it's not something I can fix since the app can't detect what plugin the list is coming from.

It's a it of both. I have (somewhat incomprehensibly) 691 static playlists(!). But there are only 30 playlists listed in my favourites within Dynamic Playlists - only 20 of which appear in the Squeeze Ctrl list before they begin repeating again

Does this mean it's an issue the developer of the plugin could fix at their end? How might they go about it?

If it's not fixable, it's not the end of the world for me, as I can still see the full list in the Material Skin web GUI and LMS itself - but that takes me away from using Squeeze Ctrl for such use cases, of course.

Have you tried doing a full rescan of your library?
