Squeeze Control for Android (support thread)

Hi there,
I've been using this app for a very long time. Since a while there is a problem that radio stations in dock mode do not update the display. This applies to all stations. Everything works when listening to local tracks or via Deezer. If I'm not in dock mode, the display also updates for radio stations.

It would be good if there was a solution to this.

P.S. Using it in tablet mode.

You sure you did a full rescan, instead of a new music scan? The problem you mentioned is usually a server problem, especially since Squeeze Ctrl hasn't been updated for a while.

Yes, i did a full scan ("Clear library and rescan anything"). Yes, I know there has been no update recently on the app. But on the server not either.

Well, I've been playing the radio for the last half hour controlling with both a phone and the tablet and the display updates fine in dock mode. Have you tried restarting/rebooting your server?

I restart the server daily by shutting down / starting again the Synology NAS.
The problem occurs with Squeeze-Ctrl only, with "Squeezer", everything is working fine. Sad, because I prefer Squeeze-Ctrl over Squeezer, actually.

Oh you're on a Synology NAS. I'm guessing you have a pretty large library, >10000 songs?

Squeeze Ctrl is a little more demanding on the server than some other apps, and when the song library gets large NAS's generally can't keep up with the demand.

This is a pretty well known limitation with using NAS as a server.

OK. Too bad: Squeezer does not have this problem. I used to prefer Squeeze-Ctrl over Squeezer. But with this problem, the app is rather useless to me. And in addition, Squeezer has improved a lot over the last years.

Looking its a server issue, as it just randomly happen on my squeezebox radio.

Squeeze ctrl closes when opened

After changing the Server settings the App closes before It can be changed. The Player works via the web interface

Hello! First off: Nice job, Angry Goat! I have now switched over to SqueezeCtrl as my go-to app for LMS and my Pi's.

Question: How does one choose a title / album / artist from the Android Watch app interface? I can easily control volume, speakers and groups but can't change the media itself without going to my phone version of the app.

Again: Nicely done. Kudos.
