Phone: Samsung Galaxy S7

Android: Nougat

Keyboard: SwiftKey (most recent version)

Tested with:
+ SwiftKey beta
+ Swype
+ Samsung keyboard
+ Google keyboard
+ Cheetah keyboard

Apps:
- Mukluk
- Google Docs
- Gmail
- etc.

I must've hit some key combination wrong but now every time I use an onscreen keyboard or Bluetooth connected keyboard on my Samsung Galaxy S7, the status bar disappears. The instant I start typing, goodbye status bar with time, battery life, app status.

How can I "pin" the status bar?

Welcome to the forums. Have you tried a different launcher, like Nova?

Welcome to the forums. Also, I see that you have the Cheetah keyboard installed. I've read several reports about different apps by Cheetah Mobile messing up with the status bar. I'd recommend you to disable or, even better, uninstall any CM app from your phone.

Moved from the Nougat forum to the S7 forum, since this is more likely a device-specific issue, rather than a general Nougat issue.

Nova does not keep the status bar from disappearing at the top (with battery life, notifications, time, etc).

Resetting the settings (not a full factory reset) didn't help it either.
