Hello Android community

I know this problem has been discussed before, but nothing works with me........

I rooted my S4, installed usb mass storage and checked, that the audio shoul go out to external speakers when connected

My radio (Suzuki Swift 2012) recognizes a USB connection (this was not the case before the root), but the audio still comes out of the phone

Can anybody help (sd is fat32 formatted)......

Thank you very much!!!

Yes, I checked the box to use external speakers when connected....that should be all?

Hey!
Is there any chance that you have managed to solve this problem?
I have a new suzuki swift 2013 as well with a usb port but the connection between my S3 galaxy to the car's audio system doesn't work...
I'm run of of ideas :(
I really hope you could help me!

Thanks!!
Tomer

The problem is that your car stereo is probably looking for a device in "Mass Storage" USB mode, however all Android devices since version 4.0 (ICS) have used MTP to present storage over USB.

There are quite a few (good) reasons why Android switched from mass storage mode USB to MTP, though I won't get into all that here. The bottom line is that you probably won't get this fixed unless you get a new car stereo that supports the protocol. Other alternatives include bluetooth and/or aux cable.

There *may* be a way to get mass storage mode working on a rooted device (I honestly don't know...have never tried).

I have the same problem. Just bought a Suzuki swift 2013. What eventually did you do to hear music from the galaxy s3 to the car audio?
