STILL no Lollipop update as of 12/24

One more vote against lollipop then? I am not updating when I get it.
Have you had any debilitating problems from lollipop?

I get better battery life now, and things are generally smooth.

You can't stay with KK forever. As Lollipop matures and gets updates, it will be loved by many just like KK was/is. Every new OS has issues, just give it a little time. I'm sure by the time 5.1 comes out Lolly will be just fine.

And this is precisely the time that I will install it.

To each their own, but I personally have no issues with it. I bet most people don't. The reason you see people on the forums complaining about it, is because that's what people do when something goes wrong. They go online and complain. But out of the millions of people that have gotten the update, I bet most are enjoying it. The people complaining about it online are a very small sample size of those who have received it.

Enjoy whatever floats your boat, I promise not to lose any sleep over it. ;)

I'm the exception in this thread at least. I've had lollipop on my nexus 5 for over a month. I did a cache partition wipe since it was slow after the 5.0 and 5.0.1 updates. Both times it did the job. It runs great. I'd never pick KitKat over lollipop but that's me.

I hate lollipop. I hate the look and the performance. My phone ran its best with Kit Kat 4.4.4.

gee, the internet doesn't seem to implode when apple pushes out their updates to 3 generations of iphones and two generations of ipads all at ONCE.

The internet doesn't but the iPhones do...

On any case I think the update has been halted as I was being prompted for the update for ages but no longer, it now says that 4.4.4 is the latest (up to date).

Same here. I don't like the UI lag and stuttering with Lollipop. Every animation now causes my N5 to lag ever so slightly. After a while I reduced the animation to 0.5x which helped, but I never had to
do that with KitKat before.

I disagree, it's actually the complete opposite of what you stated. If you've ever worked in sales, you would know that for every customer who complains about something, there's likely 10-100 other customers who feel the same way but didn't bother complaining about it.

If you believe that customers who complain are just a vocal minority, then you end up not listening to your customers, and you become a company like Microsoft who believe that complaints about their products (Windows 8, WP8, Xbox One) shouldn't be taken into consideration.

Prove it. Show me hard facts backed up by studies. Until then it's just your opinion.

Vocal customers are your insight to what is wrong with your product. Many will not complain but next time will also not buy your product. Listening to that 5% of complaining customers can save you 30-70% of your current customers from jumping ship in the future. Most won't complain and just think "next time I'm not going to get a/an ______"

Anyone with lag or other issues should wipe your cache partition. Lollipop runs great on the nexus 5 in my opinion. Its a great improvement over KitKat.

I'm not trying to start an argument, just trying to make a point. Some people are acting like most people are having issues. Fact is, there's no way to prove what % are having problems. Anyway, every time a new OS comes out there are these kinds of threads started which prove nothing.

We should all just move on and use what we like. I'm sure Google is aware of any problems with Lolly and will address those concerns. Just for the record, I never said Lolly was perfect. If you are having problems, I'm sorry about that. But I'm sure there are many that aren't. On a side note, I hope everyone is having a good holiday season.

Yep this is definitely true. You don't need any studies or facts to prove it. It's just human nature always has been and always will be. The majority of People generally try to avoid "conflict".

For the folks who are complaining about lag and battery life and other issues, have you tried a factory data reset yet? If not, and if you are willing to back up your data before doing so, please do. A lot of other folks that have had these issues noticed improvements (or elimination of the issue) after performing a factory data reset.

Yes, I know, in an ideal world, this wouldn't be required, but this is a major upgrade from KK to Lollipop - the runtime itself has been changed, along with all the other changes. A clean start may be worthwhile.

I wiped my cache last night and I noticed my lag and stuttering issues disappeared!

When sending the Lollipop OTA, Google should have made it so the cache was wiped automatically.

I'm still thinking about possibly doing a factory reset but I still have a lot more to backup. I dread losing all my data! I still have yet to do the cache wipe too, which might fix everything. I'm just worried I won't do it right.

Sorry, but I take this back. The lag returned after just a day of usage lol.
