Still, No update to Gingerbread, Samsung doens't change!

We have all been of the opinion that it is Samsung that is not releasing the 2.3 update.
Im not so sure anymore
I was in the Verizon store a few minutes ago and I was looking at the Verizon version of the Epic and low and behold it was running 2.3
That brings a question to mind. If it's available on verizon why is it not available on Sprint.
Also the Nexus S4G is pretty much the same phone minus the keyboard.
Again that phone is also running 2.3

What is going on here ?

Sprint is working on a version of Carrier IQ that can't be removed.

What is Carrier IQ?
Should we be worried about it?
Does using the rooted version overcome this?

I truly hope this is not so, and i hope is not a reason for the delay!

Lol, I was actually kidding about that. I should've stated.

See this post to learn more about the infamous carrier iq.

It's one of the things that has crossed my mind though. Seeing how most people blame Samsung for the updates, but fail to consider the fact that most other carriers have GB on original Galaxy S devices. I tend to believe that it's the fault of Sprint and Samsung, but more lately, I'm leaning toward Sprint being the culprit. Who knows? But then, there are the memory leak issues of the Samfirmware leaks. So I'm not entirely sure.

I honestly think its sprint. the epic is at EOL and probably figure theyd rather make you upgrade if you want GB. Hence the reason I just ordered a Nexus today.

Yep, no more Samsung touchwiz crud phones for me. Nexus only for me from here on out. Only reason I'm getting the Epic Touch is to use my last premier upgrade before the end of the year. After that, I'm selling it if the Nexus Prime is any good.
