Still worth getting a Pixel 2XL?

I'm debating the Pixel 2 XL myself. I saw today that at Best Buy I can get a 2XL 64 GB for $450 on device payments. That's a great deal. I tried a Galaxy S9 Plus all last week from there on their deal, but the battery life was crap. My wife got one as well and hers is great. I'm leaning towards a Pixel this time, but wondering if I should wait for the 3XL or jump on the 2XL for such a good deal. I have read the bad stuff about the screens on the XL, but I haven't seen one in the wild to be able to see for myself. All the demo units I've seen are the non functioning ones.

If I didn't need to update, at this point I would wait for the 3 XL. If you do need to update, the 2 XL is great. The camera is exceptional. I'd certainly buy my 2 XL again!

Just noticed my Google news feed says Best Buy is selling the 2XL for $400 off, sounds pretty sweet not sure what the catch is if any

Amazing price.... Not sure that did that with the original but maybe they are overstocked.

That’s kind of what I’m debating. I’m back on my iPhone 6S plus which is a replacement from Apple due to a Bluetooth issue with my old one. It’s a good phone, but I do have the itch to get back to an android phone. My wife loves her Samsung but the one I tried wasn’t impressive.

I would say it's worth it. I also recently upgraded to Pixel 2 non XL from an LG V20. Loving it so far and really enjoying the small one handed experience. Before the V20, I had a 6P so it was nice to go back to pure Android again.

Main reason I switched was my V20 was getting kinda bogged down and I was getting screen retention during normal usage, it would eventually go away but always come back. Had the V20 basically from launch from Tmobile.

Battery life is way better, I can easily get through a day on a single charge while I would always I have charge the V20 on the drive home to make it to through the night.

Obviously camera is so quick and much improvement over the V20. Not missing the wide lens either.

I got it used on OfferUp.

I thought I would miss the audio and twin camera from the V20. Not so on the audio because the supplied dongle is actually pretty good and if you try it with the HTC or Razer dongle even better. The second camera was nice but too much barrel distortion.

$200 Best Buy discount and $200 in Verizon bill credits over 24 months.
Dang it, I don't have or want Verizon.

To the OP, I agree with the previous statement. If you need a phone now, the Pixel 2/XL is a solid device. If you don't need it, wait for the Pixel 3.

I got mine in March with the intention of trading up this fall but I wouldn't do it now unless I absolutely needed a phone. And if it we're me and I needed a phone to tide me over until the Pixel 3, I'd probably pick up a Nokia 6.1.

I didn't follow the original Pixel and whether or not they did something similar. Then again history doesn't always repeat itself.

This is normal for any phone TBH -- not just Pixel phones. Phone is out for almost a year and price drops due to new models coming soon.

Not bad, 2 years to get the bill credits no doubt, but entrenched Verizon customers should have no worries there. I'd be all over this if I was needing an X/L.

Maybe a sweet deal for those non notch lovers out there. P3 not enough of an upgrade anyway IMO.

Pretty much any phone isn't really an upgrade when you go only 1 generation up. Sure some improvements but a real "upgrade" .. eh.

Still the best camera on any phone out there until the Pixel 3 comes out, but who know how much better. I'm more than likely holding onto mine until the Pixel 4

I bought the 2xl panda at a special price but couldnt cope with not being able to set up my home screen exactly as I wanted it. The lack of choice over the home screen widgets, no sd card or headphone support and the overall clunkiness and lacklustre screen led me to return it within hours. I need my phone for more than the camera google...

TBH .. You knew it didn't have headphone support or SD card support so the fact you bought it when that is a "must have" for you baffles me more then Google leaving it out.
