So got the OTA 2.3.3 update last week and all has been pretty good with one exception.

Seems like when I have the phone set to vibrate when I receive a vibrate notification either an sms, gtalk or gmail the phone doesn't vibrate when the notification is received.

Yes I have checked all the settings and they all worked fine when I was in Froyo and remain unchanged. I also checked with a couple of N1 users that I know that are stock and they are experiencing the same problem.

Anyone else out there? Some quick interweb searching hasn't revealed a whole lot, kind of surprised if this is indeed a wide spread bug.

Solutions? Is it happening to you?

Thanks in advance.

Does your phone vibrate upon turning on our reboot? Are you getting haptic feedbacks when pursuing soft keys?
If no to all those the vibrator itself is probably broken.

Sorry forgot to mention that.

Yes vibrate is working when I receive calls on vibrate and vibration is working as the settings would indicate with my soft keys.

As I said it is also happening with a couple of other friends N1s since being upgraded to Gingerbread. Perhaps another bug like the wifi sleep battery bug?

Its pretty easy to test. So nobody else is experiencing this problem?

Well it looks like I solved this after working on it for several days.

What I did was download a little application from the market called Sound Manager. When I did I saw that the vibrate setting was turn off (despite being turned on in every point in the stock Android Settings)

After doing so I was able to get vibrations back when receiving sms, mms, gtalk and gmail. It's almost like the setting in stock android was temporarily broken. I even un-installed the application and it still works. Very weird indeed.

Whatever, I can go back to enjoying Android and not missing out on my messages when the phone is set to silent.
