Stock Email App Crashing (N5 / 4.4.4 stock)

Hey there -

I've got a Nexus 5 bone stock / locked / not rooted. I'm having an issue with the stock Android Email app crashing many many times a day. Completely out of the blue, I get a message stating "Unfortunately, Email has stopped".

My questions are:

1.) Am I the only one out there dealing with this?
2.) How do I determine what's actually causing the issue?

This started happening after the Email app upgrade a while back. When I push the app version back down to original ("Uninstall Updates" via Settings), the problem stops.

After upgrading the application go to settings-apps - all
Tap email
Clear cache
If thus doesn't fixes the problem clear data also (you will have to add accounts and settings again as this will reset the email application)

Thanks for the reply. I've done that (both). I've even gone as far as to reload the entire phone. I'm wondering if there's visibility into a log somehow which would give an indication about the cause of the crashes.

Try logcat from play store you can send/ view system logs using it

Is there a specific event of some kind I'm looking for in logcat?
