Stock home screen widget suddenly missing temp and weather icon

Hey all,

On a stock Pixel 2 XL my home screen widget (that I love, coming from BW) went from showing date and weather to showing just the date.

I've searched online for answeres, but haven't found anything that I've been able to do on my phone.

Any solutions?

Mine had done the same thing! I have tried numerous different things but nothing works? I would love to know if I am over looking something?

It wasn't. Just turned it back on. Wondering, if thats the reason, when it will show back up.

Mine did this as well and then after a couple of reboot it came back. It’s been fine ever since so I don’t know what was up.

A month or so ago several people were having this problem. It must've been something on the server side because no one could pin it on a Google application update or anything like that. In any case the problem resolved itself after a few days (again, no OS or application update that anyone could pin it on).

I have the opposite problem. Mine shows the temp and I don't want it to. I've done everything to turn it off with no luck. It's done it since the latest update.

I was told in a Google help session that possibly the option to turn it on and off is no longer available. I was told to send feedback.

I haven't come across a way to omit temperature in the widget. The widget is so simple, I think it's all or nothing.

So, this begs the question(s)...

Does the location need to be on for the temperature to show, or will the temp always show?

And if the temp always shows, I'm assuming it won't update temp when you change location?

I do know that location had to be on for the weather and temp to show.
