Hey i have just bought a new phone and updated the system to the newest update.

I have a problem with the popup with the phone that really annoy me.

It seems like when i get sms or maybe messages on whatsapp there is no way for me to not show them on the notification top bar.

I was able to somehow stop showing whatsapp notification even due the popup option don' exists anymore but if i go into the notification (the place where i have the option to open bluetooth and wifi) i see the apps notifications.

If i choose clear for the notification it seems like it clear the notification on the app itself.

So for example when i get message on whatsapp it show small circle with the number of message but if i clear the phone notification it clear the number as well and i don't know that there are messages.

Is there anyway to return it to work like the older phones. I don't want to see messages for most of the apps other then the circle with the amount of messages on the app icon itself.

Thanks in advance

Just to be clear -- you don't want to see any notification in the status bar at all, but still want to keep the unread message badge on the app icon? Or are you talking about a larger banner notification for the incoming message that briefly takes up more space at the top of the screen?

What if you change the notification to Silent (instead of turning off notifications altogether)?

That behaviour depends on the launcher, in your case OneUI. Most recent launchers have the app icon badges connected to the notifications showed in the status bar, so if you dismiss them the dot disappears. I'm not sure if Samsung included a special trick in their latest OneUI version but it's unlikely.

I can confirm Samsung didn't include any special trick. Swiping away the notification in the status bar causes the dot to disappear.

You can go to settings>notifications>advance settings>status bar none
Or

Long press that app>tap info>notifications>notifications category tap>each sub menu tap toggle pop up off Screenshot_20220325-230103_Settings.jpgScreenshot_20220325-230031_Settings.jpg

Hey thanks for trying to help
Making the app silent does not show alert but it still show popup when the phone is on

If reply to mustang7757 it seems like the new phone version doesn't have the the option of "show as pop-up".
I have all the other options other than that so it seems like normal settings doesn't allow me to cancel popup for apps.
